With Joe Wardle now signing for Cas from the Knights its should make it easier for us to be able to temp him away from castleford for next season. Ben has been good for us this year and would be great to get some real competition in the centres with evans and goodwin coming in aswell.

An area we have seemed to struggle for players for a couple of years.

I think a back line of real quality with Brown/goodwin/evans/crooks/dawson/higson/langi (if possible)

Depends where Wardle has been bought to play, maybe in second row.

But would like to see us sign Crooks sign, along with Goodwin and Evans would give us options at centre. If we can't sign him, maybe scour the championship for a centre (we may be there ourselves!). How's Hankinson progressed since leaving our reserves?

If its true Ethan Ryan has signed for 2018, then maybe Crooks has a deal elsewhere.

I think us (Salford) are still after him from last year so wouldn't be suprised of we got him as Whelham isn't staying.

The only Championship Centre capable of playing SL is Ben Helliwell. I wouldnt mind him at all.

Would not surprise me if Crooks goes back to Yorkieland.

I would hope that crooks stays, for one he's English so no quota spot, 2 Cas are such a class act that he may find it difficult to get regular RL, But the lad will know what he capable of so best of luck to him, hope he stays for another season.

We cannot let Langi go, after his first game at Wire I thought "what the hell have we got here" since the lad is improving week on week and he can only get better, if we don't sign him another SL club will be will stay over here, as they say a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, we are in possession get him tied up immediately before someone else does.
PS, could someone please explain to me the overseas player ruling, and would we have to ditch someone to keep him, thanks in advance

We have two already signed up,one of which is playing in the NRL. Crooks is a ,how many would you like?

Would like to see 3 recognised centres in the squad, so there's less chance of a massive reshuffle in case of injury, like this year.

I think Langi will be playing back row next season. Whether that's for us is another matter

Mitch Brown will probably play( fullback, centre,wing) he has to stay or Goodwin doesn't come next year.

He's signed a contract,are you saying if Brown moves on,Goodwin will follow..Does Goodwin not have a mind of his own? Does he need a buddy..He'll have plenty at Leigh.

I thought it was through Mitch Brown that Goodwin decided to come to Leigh, that's why he stays.

To come all the way from Australia and find out they have let M.B go would cause some issues.

Nobody is saying Brown is going anywhere..What issues would it cause if he did? Many have joined Leigh based on an existing players influence,but they all move on at some point.

That's a fair point but they never move on before the new player arrives.

Like every other player he earns his spot, be that FB, wing centre or whatever. If neither of those he would be an invaluable squad player - and if that's what he becomes then it shows that we are progressing.

Without doubt he stays, appears to be totally professional in his attitude and commitment to the club - doesn't seem to stomp off if not in his preferred position as others appear to have done

Evans,Goodwin and Brown the three recognised ..I'd be happy with that.

Well we obviously differ in opinion, given the choice I would have Langi over Crookes, he offers more with ball in hand and a better defender, also I think we have seen the best that Crookes will ever be I believe that Langi with time has much more to offer.

That's just how I feel. However, there is the quota problem to overcome!

Ben has offers from Leigh, Salford, Wakey and Widnes for next season. He's waiting to see whether Cas wants to release him from his contract or keep him before he decides where he wants to go.

Why would we even think about letting Brown go? One of the most consistent and reliable players we've had in a long time and can cover any number of positions. Ideal material for a game where depth of squad is absolutely vital and clearly a real professional.

Brown should stay to compete with McNally to play full back, and act as a 4th option at centre, similarly for wing. Wouldn't want him playing full back then having to reshuffle as soon as a centre is injured.

How much truth is there in Wakey offering Ben Crookes a deal?

Wakefield is a lot nearer to home for young Ben, that's one big draw in addition to guaranteed SL 2018 this moment in time.

And he'll benefit from playing and training in modern Stadia!
