Mickey is going to have a big bearing on our season.
Must admit I shed a little tear at the end of the game - new era is here!

| Well done, you were superb. I think you'll win more than you lose at home if you can keep the atmosphere like it was tonight. It was refreshing to see how committed and enthusiastic your players were. Enjoyed the ground too, nice setup you have there.
I won't go into how bad we were on here, but Leigh were far and away the better side tonight. Good luck with the rest of the season.

| Magnanimous in defeat there Saddened .....
Refreshing to have an opposition fan feel we won't get hammered every week.
FWIW, I felt the game was fairly even stevens, penalty count against Leigh was high, deserved or not I'm not sure.
The difference for me was Micky Higham & our last 'gasp' tackle, must have denied 4 tries tonight.
Great crowd on, 9012, there will be established SL Clubs that get nowhere near that all season.
Hope to see 3 > 4,000 Leigh fans at Wigan next week.
Onwards & upwards

| Still a bit flat after that - a big win but just some things that still niggle.
Negatives:
- Thaler
- Our discipline
- After a 40-20 why the hell do we chuck it about on the 1st tackle, need calmer heads.
- AJ needs to stop being drawn off the wing, maybe he feels confident he's got the speed to catch up but its creating holes.
Positives:
- Great crowd, 9012 (?), well done Saints for coming out and North Stand was so loud my ears are still ringing.
- Our forwards were great, though Hoppy looked gassed quite quickly.
- Played fairly smart
- In fact the whole team were good, I think its now hitting that it was 2 points lost against Leeds.
MoM for me was Reynolds.
Hock, Green, Acton stood out too.
The interchange between Pélissier and Higham is fascinating.
Éloi gives that more speed, a kicking option, tackles above his weight and yet it seems the team is held together when Mickey is on, the crowd and the team react more confidently too.

| To expand:
After our loss to Cas I was just happy to be there, wasn't expecting to win, not overly bothered by the spanking.
Last week, expected to lose, wasn't too bothered we only just lost.
Tonight, didn't expect to win, wasn't too bothered we won.
I don't know, maybe from the low of the 2015 middle 8s, to the massive high of the 2016 middle 8s and promotion something has got lost.
We just seemed to give away daft penalties at the wrong time/field position.
Our goalline defence was excellent, its just that because of the former, or even a very odd penalty count, we shouldn't be in the position. Yes we dealt with it, it just feels hollow.
Yes, AJ is more right than wrong and he tackles very well but I still feel we are being exposed down that side far too often, something that any team with good prep and quicker hands could really exploit.
Its me, I'm just not on a big of a high as everyone else was when they were leaving the ground.

| Incredible result. Proud as punch is spot on.
When was the last time we beat one of the SL 'big boys' in a competitive fixture?

That in itself suggests you should take up knitting, however two points; you admit we gave away daft penalties yet have Thaler as a negative. I think it is bred in with some people to slag off the ref, he got every major call correct without the help a VR which is the most important bit, when a team is offending and the ref spots them all, it isn't really his fault is it?

| Last night was great not just the result but the atmosphere ,a crowd of over 9,000 was brilliant both sets of Fans contributed , but Leigh played really well Micky Higham and Harrison Hanson both got the plaudits and rightly so, but Drinky and Reynolds BOTH had good games, and Gaz Hock really took it Saints so called Big Men.
All in all Leigh got what they deserved a great win, a 2 - 10 penalty count against us ,I never criticise Refs but last night Thaler was terrible , Saints weren't so squeaky clean, and we're offside nearly all the game, however we rose above this and earned the 2 points,I admit I was one who criticised Vea last week ,but he put the hard yards in last night and answered his critics well, we'll played Vea I can't wait for next week,Cmon you Leythers.

| I'm just no as enthused as others.
Say if everyone is on a scale of 1-10 is at a 9 or a 10, I'm around a 6 maybe a 7.
And don't be having a pop at knitting, you're thankful for the skills that keep you warm when the weather is bad.
As for Thaler, he is one of the better refs, made some very good calls, also think he was a bit over zealous in the last 15 minutes or so but then again he is a ref and I'm not, his interpretation of what are infractions are what matters.

| Definitely a game to focus on the positives rather than the negatives.
The pack was superb and bullied a very experienced opposition for 80 minutes. Hock was excellent and Vea went a long way to atoning for last week.
Our centres look strong, Crooks will be one of our best signings this season and Tonga will prove his class if he can stay fit.
Reynolds and Drinkwater are developing a good understanding.
Micky and Pelissier complement each other brilliantly. We have a threat at hooker for the full 80 minutes now. It was great to see how much it meant to Micky to get the try and the win.
Finally, 9000 crowd, with 2 thirds leythers, shows how far we've come. Very proud to be a leyther

Agree 100% Iggy ,Reynolds and Drinky are playing very well together ,as are Micky and and Pellisier,I said before the season started Crooks could be a great signing, and as you say around 6,000 Leythers ,it's good being a Leyther.
