Derek has only gone and opened up the gates for free. Amazing gesture to get as many of the people of Leigh and surrounding towns to see what they have been missing. Let's get all our friends family and neighbours down to the LSV next week! No excuses.

Agreed. This is the chance for the club to showcase what we have to offer. It's really important that we get as many locals as possible into the LSV next week.

Well if that's the case, I think it might be little unfair on the season ticket holders, so i don't mind paying a tenner for a ticket just to put money in the club, and that's what i will do.

If any season ticket holder thinks they haven't got the best value for money in the sporting world this season then they must be bloody hard to please!

The more the merrier and I hope we pack as many as possible into the LSV next weekend to show the lads how much we appreciate their efforts this season.

Absolutely, the club needs everyone of the regulars to bring as many people as possible next week. I will be bringing my old man. His last game was in 1982 when I was just a 9 year old. He watches and listens from home and will probably not go to another game again in his lifetime. That's not the point, Derek just needs to see that the town cares and backs what he is doing. Let's beat the 6000 that were there on Saturday.

This is a remarkable gesture from Derek (and a canny marketing ploy too) and I hope the LSV is absolutely rocking at the weekend. Those Leythers who have never been to a game don't know what they're missing and I hope all the Bents and Bongers become Leythers too - cos why on earth would they want to be Wigan fans?

Don't travel to LSV this morning for tickets .... people queueing to be turned away .... no plan in place & staff been told NOT to issue any tickets.

They'll need a plan quickly, or will be a waste of time. Would've thought the main issue for ticket office is how many tickets can be issued per person. Then a question of what happens with online / phone orders etc...

Seriously ? I thought it was all anounced officially last night. Surely that suggests plans have been laid down.

Turning people away now who want to watch the team free or otherwise is not good from a PR perspective.

The Ticket Office isn't set up to issue free tickets yet.

Have to say, it's a bit of a cock up to not be able to issue tickets straight away off the back of the coverage the offer got. Hopefully they'll be ready this afternoon / tomorrow morning.
