Good to see the no nonsense approach from the board this year, if players don't want to be here, Lord Deggsy will have their heads off.

Releasing players just because they've signed to play elsewhere next season is just cutting your nose to spite your face. I remember Brough being man of the match in a grand final for Cas when he'd already signed to play for Wakefield the following year.

Nothing official, and Jake is contracted to the club until the end of the 2018 season. obviously he is having a terrible time at Leigh, we are struggling, and also he hardly ever gets selected.......

Lets nip this in the bud right now. Before any rubbish gets out of hand and the clubs name gets speculated about on other forums.

I believe Jake has been presented with an opportunity to move down under immediately and a request to be released from his contract was made and subsequently granted.

It is as simple as that. Now lets cut all the cr*pp and wait for an official announcement.

I've heard he is off to play for Chad City Otters, who play in the Central African League.....but nobody has packed his bags for him yet though !

Personally I do not know what 2017 holds for me either.

Harold , plenty say my knowledge is not very sharp, but I do know Australia is refered to as Down Under, I was just surprised by this as I thought he would be making the trip to Toronto.

Whatever the future holds for Jake, he's been an excellent servant for Leigh and one of the good guys who will be sadley missed.

Very true Atomic, Emmitt is a workhorse no doubt , does the hard yards nowt flashy,would always be in my 17,hope he is successful in whatever field he chooses to earn a living.

I agree. He does all the hard graft, often without being noticed. I reckon we'll miss him considerably.

If true he's going to Aus all the best to him. Think he's an excellent player, a real 100% kind of player. If he fancies a shot at playing in Australia he's probably at the right stage in his career to go & have a go at it. Will be a big loss for us if he does go.
