| Gareth Hock
Should be dropped, Emmitt, Spencer, Aspinwall, Sarsfield, Walker and Tracey should all be in before him.
Arrogance
I don't think it is...... The players are buzzing and quietly confident that they can beat anyone on their day. Not a bad thing really?

| he doesn't look fit, his stupid offloads nearly cost us, and we have better players in Emmitt etc.. to fill his boots. Think hes coming to his sell by date. Good for Championship though......

Sorry but he was $hite today, rightly taken off and rightly not brought back on. Hope he pulls himself together but he's looking like a waste of money at the moment. Spencer is twice the player (currently) and should have played today.

I think your right! I couldn't believe it when Spencer wasn't playing..... ar well, we live and learn. He'll know what to do for the Warrington game now.
Use Hock against the bad championship teams, and save Spencer for Wire etc...

| I'm still leaning towards the theory that Hock is trying too hard at the moment. You could see his class on his debut, he just needs to get his head down and get on with his game.

| He did get injured and Spenner was injured which was why he did not play.
Hock will play a very important part in our team this season imo. He has been unlucky with injuries since his debut.

| Gareth Hock made one mistake other than that made 10/15 yards for every drive. Numerous Leigh players made plenty of mistakes in the first half. Gaz didnt get chance to make amends due to injury. Get off the lads back.

Not sure about Tracey & Walker (think Walker will be a bit of a Alex Brown, came with big fanfare, lost his place in the team & couldn't get back in) agree all the others (& Fui) are playing better at the moment. Hock needs to earn his position in the team & he's not really done that yet in my opinion. I'm sure he'll get plenty opportunity to do so and he needs to really take it. Don't care what his name is, there's big competition for his position & the best player should get it & that's not him at the moment.

That's one thing Gareth Hock just simply isn't capable of doing. The guy is a danger to himself and everyone around him. He was a player with great potential, having the physical attributes and talent to be a sensational, world class, player. He proved during his early career at Wigan that his personality was not conducive to professional sport. He never achieved consistency at any of the clubs he's played for and controversy is never too far away with him.

Very much agree Ste,Hock unloads the ball maybe 7 out of 10 tackles in the same way Sam Barlow does ,if they come off they look great and if they don't the player is accused of throwing the ball away, for me we should have players following Hock and Barlow all the time looking for these unloads.

Agreed offloading is a great skill & really helps our game & the way we play. However while Barlow makes a half break, looks for the player running alongside him & passes it neatly to him Hock seems to go into a tackle, look to get the ball out then fling it. We've had a few players over the years that seemed to suffer from "Offloading Tourette's" it's not always the best thing to do.

| If you have a prop forward who always looks to unload then one of his team mates should be there to take the ball.

| Support play does seem to have dropped off a bit this season. Probably a result of being a bit more expansive, and Brierley stepping up his game to become more of a playmaker than just a support player. Neither of these are bad things clearly, but if we're to get the most out of Hock, need to get people in support when he's taking the ball in.

That's what I'm trying to say ,offloading the ball is all part of Hock's game and we have 2 forwards that can do this,as for Brierley? The guy is playing superb like a man possessed getting better every game,I love the guy, another thought from me is yesterday we played with our usual bench of 4 forwards ,yet Hock didn't return and im not sure about Jamie Acton , yet we didn't miss the 4th forward , would it not be a good idea to add Ben Reynolds to the bench ?I'm not trying to tell Rowls his job, but could be worth a try, maybe at Blackpool on a big pitch.

Certainly not slagging Brierley off, far from it. Just that given he's expanding his game to become a playmaker, more onus will be put on others to be on the end of offloads.
Think we've only had 4 forwards on bench twice (Yesterday, and Dewsbury I think), and had Worthington, Reynolds or Foster on bench during other games since Penky's injury. Going with a big bench was understandable yesterday, and perhaps as well given Acton and Hock didn't come back on. That said, would put Reynolds in 17 next week.
If it was up to me, would be Worthington, Reynolds and Emmitt in for Armstrong, Haggerty and Acton if they are all given bans tomorrow. Worthington to come in for Platt if Armstrong escapes a ban. Toss up between Spencer and Hock for final front row place.

Nowt wrong with that thinking,as I think Emmitt is a cert to be included at Blackpool.
