Leigh Centurions can confirm that their Ladbrokes Challenge Cup fourth round tie against London Broncos will take place at Leigh Sports Village on Friday 20 March 2015 with an 8pm kick-off.

In confirming the fixture Leigh Centurions Head of Rugby Derek Beaumont said: “In considering the date and time of this cup-tie the Board of Directors considered the options available from a commercial point of view and also took into account player welfare.

“In the light of alternative local sporting attractions taking place on Saturday and Sunday we felt it was an ideal opportunity to test the water in playing a Friday night fixture.

“This will also enable the players to have quality weekend family time early in the season. We’d like to thank London Broncos for agreeing to our request. They were very co-operative in the discussions we had with them.”

The North and West Stands will be open for the game. Match-day prices are as per normal first team games:

West Stand- Adults £19, Concessions £15, Under-16s £5, Under-12s free when accompanied by an adult.

North Stand- Adults £17, Concessions £13, Under-16s £5, Under-12s free when accompanied by an adult.

Please note that Junior season-ticket holders of Leigh Centurions are entitled to free admission for this game, but must claim these from the Ticket Office at LSV.

The Club will be offering its usual hospitality packages for the game and details will be released shortly.

Sensible decision, Liverpool v United 1.30 Sunday.

It states player welfare, what? Play fev sunday, then 5 days later player london, i cant see how that is looking after players.

Does seem a bit of a funny one to see how Friday night games will affect our attendances now. A non-season ticket cup game against a team who won't bring many fans with them, attendance will already be down, not going to be able to tell how much is due to the fixture, how much to having to pay and how much to the mad rush to try to get to a weeknight game. I'll still be going though.

Sky 20th march Leeds v Wigan. Any floating rl fan will probably choose this, expecting a rather low crowd i'm affraid. When do miners play?

Friday's just do not work out for Leigh. That is evident in previous attendances.

I think the club have hinted for the reason for moving this game. Predominantly (IMO) To give all the full time staff a long over due weekend off at home with family. I can not argue with the reasoning. It is a long season after all.

Not interested in floating RL fans, they should be a bonus to any crowd - we should only concentrate on Leigh supporters, and quite frankly any self-respecting fan who chooses not to watch their own team because of the TV game that night needs to give their head a wobble.

Me too mate I am on nights, could have gone Saturday or Sunday.

Why this obsession with professional sportsmen having a weekend off, I would think they get more time off then the average working man? I worked a long season of 52 weeks with two weeks off when I was a young married man.

i agree reffy, if we'd still been pt, then that arguement may of had some merit. However now we are ft, it does not imo

Whatever day we play on there are those who would prefer a different day.

A lot of Superleague clubs seem to prefer Friday nights so if we get promoted we will have to get used to it imo.

Players are relatively young and therefore they will have kids who they might like to spend time with when their kids are not at school.

The club have decided the date if you can go well you will if you want to.

Had a phone call today from a fan who lives in Kent. He said he would be there Friday cos he can't make games on Saturday or Sunday.

Whatever we play our cup tie Friday. End of.

One assumes you could more or less choose when to take your 2 weeks off give or take ? Regardless of what happened to you donkeys years ago, The world has actually moved on and we are in an age now where employees are afforded more flexible work / life balance around working time in many professions. I simply can not compare basically the T & C's of my near 50 year career to anyone starting out in life today.

Let's be honest the players can hardly submit annual leave request forms for this coming Sunday can they? Or even commit to weekend functions you and I may take for granted such as family christenings etc.

Give the boys a break, their endeavours have earned a rare Saturday and Sunday off.

It is also astonishing how many people are actually under the misapprehension that all the full time staff in organisations similar to ours are professional sportsmen ?

Come on get real,terrible fixture time..And was no need for it.Personally, shows a lack of interest in the CC from Leighs point of view.

Love Friday night games, great for the atmosphere under the floodlights. Shame that they've picked a game where there is going to be a low crowd. Challenge cup games at home never attract a decent crowd (due to the fact you can't use a season ticket) until we play a big SL side. Looking forward to when we play regularly on Fridays if we get up to SL.

Whilst I, like you, would always go to watch my team, whatever the day, I do prefer daytime matches, for travelling/watching. Must be an age thing!
