I was waivering on re-joining LISA now that the feelgood factor is back at the club - one thing that might convince me to do so would be if there were associated offers like, say 10% off club merchandise like when I previously joined LISA - anyone else think this may be a good idea??? Would it convince anyone else to join LISA?

Its not just about when the clubs in trouble its all about making sure it doesn't happen again. The more members we have the players wages will always be secure.

Sorry, my last answer was a bit curt. What I meant was that by joining LISA it is to show your commitment and help to Leigh Centurions, I feel that the discount would take monies away so it's like robbing Peter to pay Paul.
I would rather the club have the backing of LISA and still make on the merchandise. Im sure the members don't join just for any perks that may come along.

With a 10% discount merchandise would probably be to order and cash up front, Lisa should get other benefits imo eg a players night etc

Agree 100%. I have often said that LISA members shouldn't get a discount on away travel. We don't join LISA to get part of the money back - it's crazy.

Think almost every LISA member would agree.

Come on join only a 5 quid a month more if you like less if you can't afford that.


Every penny goes to the club to make sure our club prospers.

Would be better to have 10% off certain stores in Leigh, or other offers, costs the club nowt, more business stays locally...

There are a few who offer discount for Lisa members but more would be great need a good sales person to pop around town and try and get more

wouldn’t it be in the interest of Lisa and the club, for the Lisa money to be spent on a Sales/Marketing person, promoting both Lisa and the club around the local towns to both individuals and businesses (although this bit may now conflict with what RP is doing?).

Money spent on a player can often only lasts a season, new supporters can last for life.

The LISA strategy has to be built on engagement with fans. As stated above what makes an ordinary fan invest more money in to their club? Most on here are fanatical and would pay no matter what. We should now be making tactical steps to engage with the rest of our fans base which is only growing.

I think a minimum 10% of our fan base should be engaged with LISA with a stretch target of 20%.

So that would be on current gates 250-500 fans, not sure what current numbers look like.

Just short of 300 . we do have varying level s of commitment s though some pay more then £5 a month

At the Halliwell Jones we have an annual quiz night which always sells out. 30 teams, each with six members +2 players or members of coaching staff with Tony Smith and Angela Powers asking the questions. It's £5 to enter which includes a free pint as the event is sponsored by Carlsberg.

One to consider, perhaps?

I think like someone mentioned some kind of discount in local shops / stores is better than with the club however I do think giving discount travel on away trips works as it might mean more travel than would normally (thus the backing for the team is better)and in effect a LISA member then gets a couple of away games coach travel for free if they go to them all with the accumulated money saved.
I also think creating a bit of exclusivity will help people join so L.I.S.A events with Players, coaches etc in the form similar to a sportsmens dinner with past & current players and coaches are members only (sit down events rather than Q&A sessions), I do appreciate though this involves a hire of a room which again eats into the profits so its not as easy as it looks as I'm certain Lynda and co would tell you.

Most Leythers who are LISA members are not interested in a quid off on the coach for away games.
