He's a tough lad who plays a rough game so expect hime to be targeted, but fax tonight were nothing short of cowardly.

Referee and linesmen were an absolute disgrace.

Sine Die for that late late attempt to bring real harm to Sam. No Im not over egging this it was a disgrace and has no place in RLF.

It was terrible. I don't mind hard aggressive rugby but that was anything but

Ref was a disgrace, linesman were worse than useless, they have a responsibility to protect players and they failed terribly tonight, nothing short of thugby from fax, they should be ashamed if they think that's how to play the game. I hope Sam is ok and that it's just a precaution.

Manning has plenty of form for deliberately trying to injure opponents. I remember him almost decapitating Keegan Hirst with a ridiculously high shot on his debut for us (Batley). The lad has a screw loose, and I'm not surprised to hear about this.

If that wasn't bad enough, once the brawl had stopped guess what he did, he ran in again and kicked it off!!

Hope he can find work at McDonalds. Pity really because I think he could be a decent rugby player if he ever tried it.

Spoke to the lad a year or 2 ago when he was rumoured to be signing for us,was always polite and answered me !

If they had turned up to play rugby, throw the ball about against a knackered Leigh team they would have won tonight, all they wanted to do was rough us up, which not only gave us pens, it fired us up too.
And now a lads in hospital with a fractured skull and bleeding in the brain.

You look at the side where all this happenec.the linesman looked like he was still in nappies.how can a young kid be let officiate on a game this big..yeah the ref was poor but the only time the linesman came on was the once sam did have a go back and to diisallow two of our tries

As already said if sam is as bad as it sounds(hopefully not) the guy should never be allowed on a rugby field again.if that happened in the street he would probably get a jail sentence.

Didn't go tonight so can't comment on the way we played but hope Barlow recovers quickly. And I hope that Harrison didn't set the players out to injure Leigh's players. Fair enough hit them hard and fair but not injure them

Reports are that the police are looking at the video of the incident.

I hope they do. No place for that on a rugby pitch. I have a few times on here slammed Sam for his antics, but no-one deserves that on the pitch and I hope he recovers quickly.

Just hope for the lad that it isn't as bad as suspected. Bleed on brain is very serious indeed. Prayers for Sam tonight.

Referee and linesman were inept and let it spiral out of control. Linesman looked like it was past his bedtime and ref wasn't fit enough so slowed it down all day. Made very odd calls both ways.

Was old fashioned, brutal - a heart thumping encounter and fact we won showed immense character.

Challenge on Barlow though looked so late and premeditated it doesn't surprise me police interested. Hope it's not as bad as initial reports.

Hope sams alright. Far too many times I've seen games boil over and it all kicks off because of the referees incompetence to makes decisions and send players off.

To hit someone so hard off the ball that you crack their skull is a total disgrace. If you did that outside a pub on a Saturday night you'd be charged with GBH.

Not doubting anything people have said but is it official that Sam is in hospital with a fractured skull / bleeding etc or was he sent for precautionary tests?
Don't wish to offend anyone but the lad will have family and friends maybe not reading it on here but certainly picking up on whats said from comments on here and a precautionary scan to ensure everything is ok (whilst still unacceptable from an off ball RL incident) is a lot different and a lot less worrying than to him heading to hospital in a emergency ambulance with bleeding on the brain.
Have the club put anything out on twitter to state how he is?

Poor Sam, I hope he's OK. I couldn't go tonight but it sounded brutal on the radio and on Twitter and it was obvious that he was deliberately targeted throughout the game. I hope they throw the book at Manning.
