I think the directors have been generous enough and it's not needed the fans should put their hands in their pockets and support THEIR team .

Wish I could Mo but May is a very expensive month for me what with 3 away games coming up'not to mention the cost of cosmetic surgery' buying new clothes for my holiday and helping out my brothers and sister.

I never say anything though.

Totally agree, the problem is that freebies become expected and the norm, suddenly there can be a thought that the fans are entitled to it. It all costs money to do at the end of the day and it's one thing to suggest it, it's another to pay for it!

I hope it's something we can find sponsors for, but I don' expect it - money doesn't grow on trees!

Excuse me sir, no I do not expect freebies to be the 'norm'. No I do not expect the club to have handed me my free season ticket, my free cup tickets, my free LISA membership, or to return my additional donations I made to LISA when the club was at rock bottom or to refund the difference between the concession admission price and the adult admission price that I pay in order to help the club just that little bit extra.

If you also read the 'Free coach to Fev' thread you will see I quite clearly do not expect free travel to that game either and actually questioned the benefit of it

As I suggested the possibility of securing free travel to the Leeds cup game, your little dig is obviously aimed at me. If you kindly re read my post you will find I did not say that the club should pay for it did I ?

The intention is to target and find local businesses who would be willing to [isponsor[/i a coach so the club could actually[i make[/i money on the extra match tickets sold and to ensure our lads out on the park have a following befitting of the occasion and one that represents a club with genuine Super League ambitions.

If there are no sponsors forthcoming then so be it, at least the club tried to maximise the opportunity and in case anyone may be of any doubt. regardless if it was free, £2, £12 or £22 on the coach it wlll not deter me from travelling up to Headingley on the Friday neet.

If anyone knows someone who will sponser a coach that's fine great but I wouldn't dream of asking the same sponsors to cough up,again .

I can however see two sides to the argument, short term it would have made more sense to put free coaches on for the Leeds game. But if we win at Fev as a result of having loads of leythers there, then long term that could have more benefits.

Actually, what riled me a little bit in your post wasn't the issue of sponsorship per se; it seemed like you, having had the bright idea, were really looking for someone else (the club? LISA? the BOM?) to go and do the work of finding the sponsors. If I was wrong about that, and you're working to that end yourself, then I apologize. I wasn't seriously expecting you to put your hand in your pocket, anymore than I would.

It's great that we've got to the QF & guaranteed a very good pay out but this is not a must win game the league is our only real concern. Free coaches have been supplied in must win games & I applaud anyone who has paid for us to watch our team but we shouldn't be expecting sponsors to pay for our coaches regularly IMO. You could tap up new sponsors but personally I'd prefer us to use new/old sponsors when & if needed (we could lose the next 3 on the bounce & sponsored coaches may be needed on the 25th of May when we play Sheffield in our must win games). I know what your saying Harold but lets not rely on sponsors too much & bring them in when their really needed. Back to the game I expect the lads to give it their all & you never know what could happen in the cup I for one can't wait

I will respect your opinion but the honest truth is I never once thought it would be implied as me being cheeky or me trying to get over to Leeds on the cheap at the clubs expense when I started this thread.

I will just say my only intention was for the club to maximise match ticket sales and for the club and the lads to generate as much support as possible in a similar vein and format that saw Featherstone bring 14 coaches to Leigh last week. How impressive would that be to see over 15 coach loads of Leigh supporters descend on Leeds on a Friday night. My sentiments were that it would send out the right signals not only to Mr Hetherington and the Leeds public but The RFL in general that we are a club who really do belong in the higher echelons once more.

Obviously an harmless suggestion has rubbed up a lot of people in the wrong way.

This is not the first time that my posts have been totally misinterpreted by some recently so its probably best I refrain from posting from now on in. The thread can be deleted.

Good luck to the lads in Leeds and the rest of the season, I will be right behind you. As we always used to say... Up the comics !

No to clarify I wasn't personally working towards that end of finding sponsorship.

Then again when I make an observation about team performances on here, perhaps suggesting as I did earlier in the season that our right flank needs to be tightened up defensively, equally I am not looking to pull on a pair of rugby boots, 50 years after I last took a pair off, to go and do it on the pitch myself.
