According to Mark Taylor on twitter he has been allowed to join Batley on a months loan.

He,s not in tonights reserves and judging by the pack which has been selected seems our only change for Sunday against Hornets will be Acton replacing Aspinwall.

Probably for the best, we don't really need him at the moment so getting some 1st team Championship game time at Batley will hopefully pick up his confidence and skill so he'll be closer to getting into our 1st team when he comes back.

Inevitable about Brown really. A player who nailed down a regular starting spot in SL last season, wasn't going to hang around in our reserves forever.

Some lucky lads in our first team at the mo. Not quite sure how certain players are retaining the shirt, based on their very recent performances.

Unbelievable if true a player has good as Brown should,nt be going anywhere on loan he should be in the first team squad from what I've seen of him so far ..very disappointed

Poor move there are worse players turning out every week, I suppose it helps the current threequarters to be untouchable and free from being dropped.

Second that brown had 2 bad games and he has been vanished now . Kay should be moved to 9 and brown given a chance not moved on to a championship rival not a good move that leigh .

Not the first whos face does not fit for whatever reason,but I agree our back line especially out wide is hardly setting the world alight at present and Brown is a finisher who I would think is on a decent contract.

It is disappointing that we seem to be inconsistent when selecting, dropping/rotating players.

A certain ageing 'back' at Leigh, who I admire and have enjoyed watching over the years, must be on borrowed time, purely based on performances.

Must be disappointing for those pushing in the reserves, to think that certain players seem nailed on for selection.

Hope this method does not scupper us this season, after we have made such a good start and gained so much momentum.

I was personally expecting him to get a game this weekend with the way he has been playing for the reserves. Either way, definitely a good loan signing for Batley, and I'm sure he'd much rather be getting some first team play elsewhere than be in the reserves here.

It's the defence on the wings that is particularly letting us down, and I don't t hink Brown would improve that. I'd prefer him to be going on loan to a team that wasn't as close a rival to us though. I bet he scores a shed load of tries for Batley......if he can make it up the slope

Like Arnie ,Alex Brown will be back , to good not to be , I don't mind him going out on loan to the Bullfrogs , especially if he assists in their victory over our rivals .

Perplexing to say the least. A super league winger scoring tries for fun in the reserves yet still unable to shift a player filling in out of position for the first team.

Liam Kaye is not out of position on the wing he's a player who can play multi roles he has scored a SL hat trick on the wing for Wakefield I seem to remember

On official website now D Beumont says the move gives him chance to build his confidence and form What a daft statement the lad scored 8 try's in two games the last try against the Cougars last week was awesome Brown does,nt lack form or confidence Top Player who should be in the team

Whilst understanding the rationale for letting him go, I'm disappointed at this move - especially as our backs are not currently setting the World on fire. With Pownall and Maden also languishing out of the team, the message appears to be that we don't want/need wingers.

There is no doubt in my mind. Liam Kaye is a very talented player but your not using him to the best of his ability if your playing him out on the wing. It just makes the decision to send out Brown on a months loan all the more bizarre.

The positive with Brown is that if he's playing first team, it can only be good for his confidence and will benefit Leigh

Well PR picks the side and if at the moment Brown can't get into the side Derek Beaumont makes a valid point about our reserves playing Academy sides for the next few weeks so Alex would just be kicking his heels for a month.

Better for him to keep match fit in my view.

He should be kept match fit in the first team, only opinion of course.

Just maybe there is more to it than face not fitting, because if not I think Alex has been made a scapegoat without good reason. He in my opinion is the best winger in the club.

Mr Publican , I agree Alex is a very good winger , not sure about best at the Club though , at the moment I favour Higson , AJ has took his chance well and deserves his place , for me Brown wasn't seeing enough of the ball .He should soon be back in the first team , though im not to sure about others , could be Good Night Irene for a couple .

This was my most anticipated signing of the season, there must be reason as to why Alex is not in the team but as I have said before Rowley must know what he's doing?

Alex's obvious down side is his defence, which IMO could be coached 1-1,

I think a fair benchmark would be that we would all be jealous if he was lining up for Fax against us but now he is with us he is almost taken for granted.

undoubted attacking talent but as much a mystery to me as to why our best attacking centre is being played on his unfavoured side?
