Well its almost here and time to get some questions answered

Will we be good enough to avenge last seasons play off defeat?

Do we have the support to be a serious contender?

Are the pack as good as they look?

Can we carry on scoring the brilliant team try's?

Definitely good enough to 'avenge' the play-off defeat. The players were completely spent at the end of last season, many playing injured, because of the threadbare state of our squad. There can be no such excuses this year. We've recruited well and recruited big! We all know the time is now!

Let's get it on!

Be interesting to see what Batley have to offer, this season. They are without FIFTEEN of last season's squad, including EIGHT who played in that play-off game. The majority of their new signings are young, including one certain Ant Nicholson, who is certain to have something to prove!

More about the contents next week, in the final build up to the Batley game.

I have had a few glasses of shandy since the 15th September, however I seem to remember it being the complete lack of game plan that lost that match!

Who has asked these questions Mo ?And why do they think YOU will know the answers ?

Last year our main problem was we was lacking size in the forwards & when Parker was out it showed against the likes of Fev & Batley who have/had massive packs. Secondly when Riddy & Kes were injured we struggled in attack but with Kay & Govin added to our half back/dummy half options we have better depth to our squad now. Batley have lost alot of last seasons players & with the majority them being their best ones where we have strengthened considerably so I am confident that we will win this match well & send the bulldogs back home with their tails between legs.

you are not usually prone to rash predictions ,I predict a very close game , and hopefully a Leigh win by 10 points , does the Bonus point still exist for the Coming season ?

As for the Bullfrogs , John Kear will have them playing their usual frustrating type of Rugby , he couldn't coach my dog Sam to sit up , and if he did it would at an angle

never rated the bloke , I do however predict a Leigh , but by 30 , I just cant see it .

As I havesaid Iain , I think Leigh will win , but not by much , and ive NEVER seen a Bulldog with its tail in between its legs

As I said Iain , I agree about a Centurions win , it will be very interesting to see how we turn out first game up , im confident , but not overconfident , Leigh by 10 for me , as for Dogs ?Our dog Sam is a cross Cairn Terrier , and Can put his tail between his legs , I just don't think Bulldogs can , Salfordlad might know

I am expecting a easy Leigh win...
For 3 reasons
1...we have a great team this season, great signings to play along fantastic players we kept last season...
and we wont have any money issues ( re players being paid )

2....Batley
John Kear has brought in quite a few young players...not having the experience the Leigh player will have.

Cant see anything other than comfortable Leigh win by 20+. Batley have lost some key players and replaced most of them with mediocre replacements and appear to be struggling to create much in pre season. The local press stated yesterday that Black will now miss the start of the season so they will be further disadvantaged. Cant believe on the back of last season the recruitment this season has been so underwhelming.
As for the season in general Featherstone & Leigh for top 2, cant see sheffield or halifax
touching either this year but the eagles cant be written off....

You know what my gut instincts tell me Andy don't comment be professional well sod it that's one heck of a great post and I'm with you!!!

This pack we've got will smash Batley to pieces regardless of how many duels they can get hold of this year or who coaches them!!!

We are Leigh and we will be taking it to every single one of these clubs in the Championship this year no matter who they are. Some great teams and coaches in this league so I can't wait for this season to start now.

may be true.....based on this year's batley side....but then again we hear the same every pre-season........its probably not Batley who you will have to worry about this its the other 2 or 3 usual suspects I guess.........I bet its a relief that you wont have to go through the play off's though to get one of the top two spots on offer lol
