Im very disappointed at Wanes attitude towards the game ,i was hoping he would field a stronger side ,anyway we should field our Strongest side , as reported PR intends doing so , and knock up 40+ past them the same as last year , HAPPY DAYS .

If Wane wants a competitive game we need to stick 80 past them, and see what he sends next year. There is a lot of talent in that team, with a big pack and a very highly rated half back plus 2 centres in the mix for first team. It may not be the stroll some may expect imo and we need to unleash hell first 10-15 to let them know its war.

Seems Hopkins and Parker will be the starting props with Duffy and Ostick replacing them.. I can't recall having seen Ryan Duffy play. Is he a big lad ?

That most certainly is Wigan's youth side.

I'm surprised we have not included a couple of our up and coming juniors of our own such as young Josh Ward along with a mixture of our more experienced first teamers.

I do feel for 2014, it may now be time to invite other SL teams down to the LSV for a pre season friendly.

One that will take a run out in a first class stadium against one of the top teams outside of Super League a little more seriously.

Very big - they had difficulty getting a shirt to fit him at Barrow. He has lost weight this off season, under our punishing training regime.

Thanks wigan, you've just knocked about 2000 leythers off the gate. When that team gets out around the town it will hardly be worth switching the floodlights on. No regard for the sport outside super league whatsoever!

Sorry I should of also asked if this is a shared gate? I honestly do not know. I would hope not.

In fairness it was always down as an U19s Wigan side so I'm not so sure why anyone expected anything different.

Wigan have tried to select a side (in their view) that can make it an evenly-matched game. They have included eight of their current SL squad of 25. They don't see any benefit in the game being one-sided - in either direction. We would have all loved to have seen Tomkins (the proper one) et al at LSV, and that would have boosted the gate, which was one of our main objectives - the other one being a good workout for our players.

On Sunday we'll find out whether we have been under-estimated or not.

One thing's for sure - there'll be more on than there were for the Salford game!

You mean like he did when they played widnes last year........ Lets face it, with only an U19s at wigan this season it might be the only game some of them get this year

I think for most people (both Leythers and Wiganer's) it's probably the price of admission for an U19's friendly that's the issue and to be fair to Wigan they have never billed it as anything other than an U19's friendly.

Basically all Leythers (should/probably) dislike W**an, so let's stuff the side that they can be bothered to send....again !

You might like to check out Wigan's website Harold. The fixture is 'billed' on their fixture list as a FIRST TEAM game.

In their discussions with Leigh, Under 19's were never mentioned. Now the RFL, in their wisdom, announced it as an Under 19 fixture!

I think the Wigan team for Sunday is quite a good one and certainly not an under 19's side.

Like Alan has posted on the Wigan Board' it would have been an embarrassment had the Pies picked their best 17 and lost and that's obviously why the Wigan coach has picked the team he has. His job would have been on the line and he knew it.

Not seen it anywhere else, but where is the prices for these friendlies?

Can't say I'm too bothered about their team. I go to watch Leyth, not the opposition. Doubt we'd have learned much from getting stuffed by their first team either but at least the South Stand is shut so that will keep costs down.
