The Watcher believes that the board should start now in the search for a proper coach, it was obvious last night that the Leigh team had no ideas when they got near the Eagles try line. Time after time it was one man rugby & when 5 drives at the line failed it was a kick out wide. Where were the moves or the set plays? The club has been on a money saving exercise this season but now it is over so can we please have someone who can coach.

Looking at you from a rival's standpoint, Rowley has done wonders this year. Remember that you almost didn't exist at one point.

Putting things in that context, you finished second in the league, got to the NRC semi and Play Off semi. That doesn't look like too bad a season to me.

Be thankful you don't still have last year's coach, look at the miracles he's perfomed at our nearest, but less than dearest neighbours.

Miracles??? Hahahaha, hes done nothing, that team could of gone uncoached and still finished in the same position........ But we'll have to give him another change becuase of his rigged contract, so hopefully he'll do better

What have we won, nothing.......... counts for nothing now, I'm just more ambitious and believe that team should have won trophies........ I believe a better coach can take us to the next level........ Rowleys done OK but a better coach could get us winning things

Saying that, he'll be there next year....... he'll have the best squad in the league again, and I hope he delivers, if not, it SHOULD be bye bye Rowley in my opinion

Jesus H Arkwright, I can't believe some of the opinions here. Rowley should be coach of the year! Leigh had a right go at Fev and with any other ref than Ginner Ged, might have pushed us a bit too close. 0-16 would have been a bit too much to chase IMO, but that's history.
Last night, with a threadbare team on the bones of it's ar se, a couple of correct decisions at the right time may well have seen a different result. A cracking effort in an austerity season to finish 2nd.

Some folks set the bar unrealisticly high. some perspective needed.

Wondered how long it would be before this rubbish appeared. PR has done a fantastic job this year, given the small squad he's had to work with. I, for one am extremely proud of what he and the players had achieved. They can all hold their heads up high.

I hate all these excuses we come out with:

Injury s to three main forwards Parker, Hopkins and Goulden where the reason we struggled last nite the half backs where playing behind a pack second best on the nite our players where turned over on the tackle resulting in slow play the balls in contrast to Sheffield who,s forward s always landed the right way up resulting in quick plays, its not rocket science Mookachake is it if you lose three main forwards that you will struggle Sheffield are a good team that battered Halifax last week and have beaten Fev this season which is more than we have done give them credit they are a good team are Sheffield with pace to burn and last nite outplayed Leigh for 70 mins of the match,the best won last nite and if we had snatched it at the end it would have been marvellous but we would never have won the final without those three forwards .

I've never been one of PR's biggest fans but lets face it he's as good as it gets in this league , what does concern me though is how we keep getting shafted by the refs in the big games .

I think we could do with a centre or two next season too .

I agree we need new centres, Gardner isn't good enough for centre, Maden could do a job there, Littler has lost all pace to be a threatening centre, Pownall is better on the wing, so is Clay............. Alcky Aspinwall should be a good buy if he can keep out of the Centurion

From a Halifax fan I’d say you have had a cracking season. I agree that when you have your best 17 out you have a side to match anybody, but probably not the size and strength of squad others teams have (including Fax).

As for no ideas in attack – from the games I’ve seen you play Fax, you were always dangerous with ball in hand, very good at running at the defence line and giving options to the half backs and dummy half. If you really want to witness boring one up rugby, come down to the Shay next year, because that’s what we will be serving up, especially as you have signed up the only player we had that would make opposing defences think twice

Noble springs to mind......... think Norman Turley would do a better job than Rowley......... think Purtill would be a good shout if we could afford him............ John Kear could maybe do a job........ loads of coachs out there

Brian Noble? He would just go for ex SL has beens - do you want to see a talented young Leigh side with homegrown players or old SL cast offs?

Purtill - no chance, just took a job at Huddersfield.

And I doubt John Kear would leave Yorkshire.

If we gave a good performance last night I would of been happy, but to put it frank, Rowley got the team wrong, he seemed out of his depth............ positive*

Not the 1st time Mooka, stuffed them at home in the league game, then lost in the play-offs.
Let's judge Paul Rowley after 1 play-off defeat, indeed after all, he kept throwing out crap passes, missing tackles, unable to make a break.
