Snag is he 'belongs' to Castleford. He is only on loan to us. the only thing we can do is keep reporting on here that he's rubbish, then Cas' tell us we can keep him!

IMO Cas will keep Ryan on the back burner for now & let him progress as a player & as young man. The statisics don't lie he scores trys for fun Ryan's a real class act & I can' t see Cas letting him go no matter how far the pecking order he is he's their one for the future.

He's out of contract at the end of this season,and still hasn't been offered a new one yet by Castleford(although had talks)

Sam would be stupid to go to Cas, he is developing well and would attract a far better deal from a better club at the end of next season.

I for one hope that Sam stays with Leigh for some time. I'm very much enjoying seeing how Ryan is developing though this season.

Yes,they can claim compensation for another 12 months after his contract expires,he wouldn't be able to play for anybody unless this was paid.

I've heard what Sam has been offered at Leigh for next season and would expect that he would be offered more elsewhere, although personally when the guy telling me was slagging the club off for the offer I didn't think it was that bad for a part time player at his age.

Actually it depends on what contract is offered by Cas - if it is not of at least the same value as his previous one then no compensation would be payable.

That is why Rhinos got away without paying a fee for Jack Briscoe.
