Not scared of saying it at all , the fans through the gates are our primary income this coming season , that is the figure to give us a reasonable budget to complete the season , that's just how it is

The only ones that have been ' away with the fairies ' are the ones who somehow thought that how things were being done was sustainable , Mr Thomas has been subsidizing the ST s for the last few years , essentially selling them at half price

Well the honeymoon is over and into the real world we come , best get used to it , it isn't going to change any time soon

I'm a thick leigh die hard swallow the bull season after season

But I like one or two on other thread are going to pick and choose games because to be honest which fixtures get your pulse racing,sorry but real live as to come into play.

I thought the club would have held season tickets at last years prices,like tipster ste said,he signed up 6 last year and I'm one who laughed when he told me the prices.

Who ever said watching sport was ' value for money ' ?

It obviously isn't , if you want to watch sport and get the best VFM , you'd watch it on the Telly for free

If you don't want to pay to watch it , don't , nobody is forcing you

Its just as meaningless as last season was.

Would I pay £170 to do it all again? That drive back to the LSV after winning the Northern Rail? Queuing up in 5 hours of traffic to get to the otherside of Yorkshire in a thunderstorm and losing 3 hours of pay at work having to leave early to ensure we got there before half time? Standing on the terraces for half an hour after losing to Sheffield in the play offs?
Watch Nanyn bang a kick over from the touch line at Featherstone away with seconds on the clock?


I'd pay £300+, last season was quality, take the rough with the smooth. I'll be there next year, home and away. So will EVERYBODY else that has a few of those memories still in their heads. We'll pay what we have to.

The clubs needs to wise up and if its cheaper or the same price to watch leigh or a super league club,guess who will win in the end and its not leigh.

ME i WILL PICK AND CHOOSE WHICH GAME GIVES VALUE FOR MONEY.

And £50 tomorrow for a world class game gives value for money,that is my choice and joe bloggs who picks what he wants to watch,and that sadly is what teams in our league ARE UP AGAINST,the public of leigh will not buy into a third rate comp were players and coaches get whisked away and anyone at the club thinks they can convince the public of leigh to part with such money are away with the fairies

I beg to differ, we told a couple of mates at the start of last year how good Leigh was, top day on the beer, good craic etc. They both came to pretty much every game and will be coming next year. So thats two members of the Leigh public that wouldn't have dreamt of coming every week before we asked them, now they are Leythers.

So fine , you want VFM , go to the pub on Sundays and watch the overrated s playing fall over ball for free , no problem

There are no Leigh Centurions fans that will choose to go watching SL matches over Leigh matches , except maybe you , good luck , and good riddance , because as soon as you do that , you're not a Leigh fan , are you ?

This is the whole point , we need Leigh fans , not " I'll come watching them if they are winning " fans , not " I'll come watching them when all the Rowleys have left " fans , not " I'm not paying 3 quid for a beer " fans , and most certainly not " I'll come watching when somebody else is subsidizing my ticket " fans

We need real fans , just that word alone ' fan' , it comes from the word ' fanatic ' , it's those we need , not ' Jesus is coming ' , because he sure as hell isn't coming , if he did , he'd probably go watching Swinton

Anyone who does not want to buy a season ticket can pay £13 every Thursday before a home game.

It is well known I think franchising stinks so I know what the original poster thinks but apart from 4 clubs in Non Relegation League it is pretty meaningless for the fans of the other clubs in that league isn't it? Their prices are higher of course.

Why do I buy a season ticket ? Easy I am a Leyther and I want our club to get to the top league oh and I also live in hope that franchising is soon confined to the dustbin.

We are essentially a professional Regional game but we are not living in an area/continent where teams are a very great deal of miles from each other. I don't think those in charge of the RFL have grasped that yet.

Franchising is NOT working and WILL lead to our pro game being down to around 10 clubs. Maybe that was the intention all along.

Simple, stop being lazy and stand . £150

I actually think this is a reasonable strategy. As Starbug points out, the club needs a hardcore of support who will not baulk at the fact that they are not getting a "bargain" (although to me the chance to watch a club play who a month ago we all thought had gone belly up is a bargain in itself as far as I am concerned).

Leigh are not stopping people attending matches on a one-off basis - hopefully they will end up coming to most if not all matches in the end. Having a season ticket should be a "badge of honour", a sign that you are indeed a true fan and not just on the take.

If people were not season ticket holders for years before, at those prices, its not likely that they would sign up this year at any price that wasn't a tenner. You may as well leverage that hardcore, of which I would be one if I could get to more than one game a year!

Lets put out another statement. "Leigh put prices DOWN", because if you buy your ticket for west or north stand before 5pm on the Thursday before a game it is £1 a game cheaper than last season. How many other clubs have put their prices down.

Simply put if you want to help put the club on a firmer footing, you can by buying a season ticket, or signing up to the bronze or silver packages as some have done. If money is tight you don't do any of those things and come when you can. I suspect JICs little rant is not based on the finances at all but more someone with a bit of a grudge against those trying to save the club. Personally I cannot afford to risk signing up to the packages but I will pay into LISA and probably get a Season Ticket, although I will make that decision in a few weeks time.
