Heard this morning six point deduction expected from Thursday's Salary Cap Tribunal, anybody heard the same?

Didn't know we were up before the tribunal - is this for last year? Cannot be this year surely whilst still in progress. Points deduction is the last thing we need!

If it was 6 points it must have been a pretty big breach!

Heard it was a technical breach and expect nothing.

6 points would have to involve a systematic breach (cheating) and I doubt that is the case. You might want to consider the gravity of such statements before plastering them over the Internet in future.

well there is no harm in asking the question, especially when I think a lot of people where unaware that there was even an issue. No-one is accusing the club of cheating here.

Am afraid to say that i have been told from a source that 3pts deducted is going to be the punishment of any hearing. hope this aint true.

I was told 3 points, and that it was part of the not good news that was meant be on North West Tonight program, makes a bit more sense now as the initial thought was that it related to going in to Admin - which I dont think we will be.

IIRC the rule changed after Wigan cap / staying up debacle a few years back meaning the salary cap is now meant to be 'live'.

If true that is very annoying, I suppose we have got to focus on more urgent matters right now. At the end of the day, if the players and coach have their heads on straight and the future of the club is secured at least in the short term, then we could go through the rest of the season undefeated or close to, and that would be enough to secure first or second place. I would certainly like to hear an explanation of how this could have happened.

Is a breach of the cap also regarded as a negative against any licence application?

To be honest the rules change that much it's hard to keep up. On the RLHour on Merseyside Ray French said there are big problems at Leigh maybe he was referring to this also.

Anyway let's hope Leigh can get through this unsettling period and move onward and upward.

If there has been a decision made then it would be public knowledge by now. That said, no smoke without fire, but it always makes me laugh when some low posting member comes on with this kind of post... usually a troll.

It worries me when long standing and regular posters make collaborative statements though.
