4 Lisa membership forms on the way out today and one member has doubled his direct debit, so thats another £25 a month, £300 a year.
Another 100 members would give us £6000 a year extra, 200 more £12000.

Less then half I think, some have died, others have got married had kids and no longer can afford it, mostly a lot thought the club didnt need it anymore.

I know it's stupidly optimistic, but if all 2000 of Leighs hardcore fans joined LISA, could LISA run the club successfully on £120000 per year from members?

I was a member at the beginning. Can't afford it now to be honest.

I go to games, buy merchandise and plug the club best I can but the rest of the town who do nothing need to get off their s and start contributing. They complain the town has nothing and they wont even support the things the town does have.

I was in the same boat for the last couple of years, even went through a period where I couldn't get to many games. Got a ST now and think it's tim I got off my and signed up to LISA. Printed off forms earlier today to be sent off in the morning.

Wow - I think that would surprise a few people, although when I think about it more I suppose it is not all that surprising. It goes back to that complacency factor - people thought AT woulkd pick up the slack. Now it is back to us.

Although the question was asked "why do you ask"? I think it is a very valid question and also a marketing opportunity. I suggest we publicize the number of LISA members today vs an estimate of what it has been at its peak, explain how much the missing people could contribute to the club - set a target of total LISA members by a certain date and keep a running total of memberships and advertise them on here, on the LISA site, on the club site, even in the matchday program.

It is a classic fundraising model isn't it? I think some lapsed members, and maybe new people will realise they need to and can get involved..

When you talk about raising 120 grand from 2000 members for 60 quid a year you start to realise how mass involvement can work rather than waiting for a sugar daddy. Wrap it up in a trust if you want, the key is to get the money in...

Ill get exact member numbers for you all today as it will have changed since the last meeting, it wont include the ones joined this week, obviously, but Im speaking to the club today also to see if we can get a form to join printed in the programmes for the rest of the season.
I have also been putting in requests for new members and thinking of it, anyone can join and pay whatever they can afford, be £1 or £20 a month.

I will start up a double the membership scheme from today and also why doesn't everyone sponser the people doing the Morecombe Bay walk, that Johnny from the Lottery Dept has organised, Ive sponsered his wife Michelle whos doing it.

It seems to me that the halifax game is a perfect platform for LISA to have 500 leaflets printed and distributed in the north and west stands explaining LISAs roll at the club.

Maybe a personnal letter from the people who run LISA might pull on a few heartstrings and get people to sign up.

£30 is a lot more reasonable or have a sliding scale of investment with more perks.

I'm shocked that membership is half what it was. Goes to show that you really do need to run to stand still.

Once the dust has settled at the club, you should really look at a complete relaunch of LISA, including offering something new (eg tiered levels of membership, 5, 10, 15 per month perhaps). See if the club will get involved with some promotion for new members or those moving to a higher level of membership.

Just an idea Lynda, how about getting a new flyer sent out with the lottery collectors? People who contribute to the club via the lottery must already have an interest in the club.

thb mate, when i collected money alot of them don't actually watch the rugby. But when we gives tickets out maybe we could give them to the lottery members, as a thankyou

But on top of season tickets, a shirt, beer money at matches, its a fair dollar for working class folk


Maybe these missing members could be tempted back with a lower pricing structure and maybe other incentives to part with their hard earned cash

£60 sounds like alot! talk about weekly payments or split it down to daily payments when your advertising

Leigh RL has a hardcore of passionate fans who will go that extra mile for their club, this is our low hanging fruit. Each fan will have unique financial circumstances and we must find entry levels for all those passionate fans who want to make a difference to, or ensure, the future of their club

Getting 500 new fans through the gate paying full whack will take too long, we can achieve it as phase two.

Yes you are correct , it will take too long , but it will never happen unless the actual effort is made , unfortunatly we dont even make the effort
