What is with the anti Maurice comments?

Anyone who knows Neil will not doubt his passion and commitment - when we were first looking to create LISA we had the same negativity but with a bit of support from an "establishment" figure (Kev Ashcroft) a momentum was built which got the project to fruition.

We need people to come up with lots of ideas and hopefully one will deliver results.

So instead of mocking why not be constructive?

I think the idea is a good one but it's just taking from those already giving... we're not drawing on new resource from outside the club which is the problem. I know we're not the only club with these issues and if he can get the people he's asked for to donate then good luck to you all.

For all we know the club might have new investment in place but as usual the club is very guarded against making comments. Perhaps there's nothing to tell, but it would be nice to know that at least. Good luck with the venture!

Kevster, building new revenue streams will take time we currently do not have, picking low hanging fruit buys the time to build the 4000 gates and attract investors of AT's level.

My thoughts as well , more fans , not more money from the same fans is what is required IMO of course

While you are correct time wise , the one thing that will put a stop to the 4 yearly merry go round of crisis and ownership change is for proper concerted effort put into marketing the club to increase the fan base , without it we will just keep going round in circles

Nobody will disagree with that and the broom needs to ensure we have people in place capable of doing it, but lets get through the season and get the finance in place first.

And then the ' broom ' will say that putting a winning team on the pitch will bring in the fans , but it won't and more money will be wasted , and then around we go again

We've been there before and the club has survived, supporters trust was not what people wanted and the name itself scares people away, we need to think of something new and unique, that people will buy into.
Maybe the fans buy the club and own it?

To be honest Lynda, the vote was at a LISA meeting with around 30 people in attendance. Not all voted against the Trust and of those that did several where of the older type who I don't think understood what was going on and just wanted to keep little old LISA. If I remember correctly, there was a choice of actions but I don't think it was worded fairly for people to understand (Do you still have a copy of the options).

Agreed, at least he's doing something, I can't afford that kind of money at the moment, but I will be all ears if any other schemes are put in place.

I do somewhere, we copied it from the supporters trust organisation.
I also had all the postal votes as well as the ones who bothered to attend and I actually invited every member to the meeting,by post, it was an open meeting anyone could attend it was reported.
As you said there wasnt many that turned up. Also it was in the local newspapers and also the rugby leaguer, so it was advertised what was going on, if people choose not to attend then the majority counts.

Personally we need to come with something new. Lets all wait to see what today brings with the meeting thats happening etc and then get together, find a venue and we'll all turn up and discuss matters.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with LISA, it will continue to do what its members want.
LISA was asked if it wanted to become a trust and voted not to.
LISA has continued to shrink since 2004 and the guaranteed £35k plus years
We need a substantial amount of extra income to replace what AT has put in, quickly
Not everyone has the spare cash to support this
Not everyone will want to support this, but I trust that if they support their club they will not try to stop this revenue stream
This could be supported by enough fans to make a difference, indeed it looks like it has already

The future should be about creating a community passionate about our club and the town, like any community it will be made up of all walks of life and financial circumstances but united by a common goal - making our club the best it can be.

Maurice I’ve a few questions.

100 people paying £50 per month is only £60k per year, do you know that attendance figures or we have other investors willing to make up the difference?

Why exclude the potential smaller investor? For those who can’t afford £50 per month, could none voting ‘shares’ be purchased at say for £5 per share, this allows them to buy into their club, family and friends could buy them shares for their birthdays etc?

Or why not try for 200 people at £5 per wk? (Didn’t the lottery initially start out as the 200 club?)

Or have Bronze member - 100 people x 5/wk = £26k/yr
Silver members - 50 people x £50/mth = £30k/yr
Gold members – the corporate club

I’m currently a lottery member paying £104 per year and £110 – £140 (?) for my season ticket, if I decide to pay £50/mth (£600 per year), would I still need to do this as well or would this mean in real terms I’m looking for an additional £400?

One thing which would need to be a condition of any supporter led investment is that the balance sheet needs to be cleaned up - ie Directors' loans need to be capitalised.

Nothing particularly radical about this but often there is a reluctance for investors to accept the realities of the situation.

I think that whilst what is being discussed is a good medium term plan the immediate issues can only be resolved by a significant investor/s taking a professional approach to the transition and dealing with some of the core issues.

Hopefully this is happening as we speak!

Finally, Yes this group will be one of many generating the £150k we need every year - £25k would be our share, £50k would be brilliant.
