I think that any club can apply for SL in the next round in July. All applicants will be assessed and the best 13/15 will join Widnes in the topflight.

I was initially of the opinion that we should have made an apllication on the basis that there would be 3 or 4 SL clubs who would also not meet all the criteria set out and then each one could be asessed equally on it's merits.
But in reality what were the chances of the RFL kicking out one of these failing SL clubs that had not delivered in order to make way for us? |

In the paper this morning, Nigel Wood states, a place will be there for a championship club in 2015. It doesn't state the qualifying criteria, however if this year counts, then that will put the side/sides coming down in July at a disadvantage as they will only have two years to tick a box...........unless, they are exempted from ticking boxes due to having been in SL the previous licence period
