I think the time is right again now to start the ball rolling for Tommy to get an honour from the queen. Surely he is due one.

When are the next Honours dished out? Think it's definitely worth a campaign to get Tommy the recognition he deserves.

I think it's June for the Queens birthday. But I'm not sure of there are some given out in April.

I think at 93 Tommy deserves all the accolades that he is entitled to NOW. He should have been in the New Year honours this time IMO. I totally agree that Tommy should have the freedom of the Sports Village, he should sit where he likes and be royally entertained by the Directors. I have to tell you that Tommy has not been happy the fact that he has had to stand down and he described his Christmas and New Year as "The worst ever" because he felt the Directors had snubbed him. I think at his age that it is the right decision to ask him to stand down and an equally correct decision to give him a free run of the place.

That makes for sad reading if true

No-one officially named The Shed at The Willows, or The Paddock at Burnden but they were commonlyu used names.
(in fact, Salford's ground isn't even called The Willows but that seems to have stuck?!)

Get Matt (or whoever else) to get a flag/banner with TS's image on it (possibly even saying "The Tommy Sale Stand"?) and make sure it's in a prominent position in the North Stand at every game.

It'll take 2 or 3 years max to catch on. Persuading Blackburn reserves fans to refer to it as the Tommy Sale Stand may be a struggle though?!

Maybe the name "Sale Stand" would make the ground more welcoming to another co-occupant?!

What sort of picture would you like? One from his playing days or a more recent one? The best picture of him is definatley the one from the front cover of his book however that is him scoring a try for Widnes!!
