Bless, Bins not been emptied for 2 weeeks, due to the snow 'avalanche', so there is our bin rammed full of Xmas stuff also, lid not flat (tut tut).
Some jobsworth left a sticker on our lid, the 'overloading' box ticked, but at least they emptied it. I bet the binman was a pie eater, the fat git !

Ours in Daisy Hill not emptied last Monday, I went out this Monday and got home and they had been!!! Bank Holiday and all that... Did not even put it out!!

Ours were emptied today. Roads werent bad enough to stop them last week, f'in joke!

Come round ours on Tuesday and drove past mine and most others and only emptied a couple in the street......... lazy dirty crust munchers.

Black bin emptied today, (after 3 weeks) Brown bin and paper sack still on the front waiting.

Got my brown one emptied just before week before Xmas. Didn't empty my black one once cos lid wasn't flat, out of order, think it was cos someone else had stuffed summat in mine while walking past as well.

Does anyone know what the binmen have been doing for the last fortnight whilst not emptying dustbins? Do they just sit around the depot drinking tea or are they given other jobs to do?

They should ve been clearing snow from the streets. My bins are overflowing because they turn up when they can be rsed to, as for the green bin it must ve been last emptied in the summer.

Methinks they are sub-contractors these days and don't work directly under Wi*an MBC

I live on a private road which is on a hill and we got ours emptied. Not on he right day but a couple of days later when they got around to our street. Wigan MBC don't you just love them and the private companies that they employ to do these jobs. It's the same with gritting the main roads. When you got out of the Wigan gritting area the roads were clearer.

Makes you wonder how these fanny's would have coped in the good old days when the bin man came in to the back yard and humped the bin full of ashes over his shoulder , emptied it and then brought your bin back in again .

I seem to recall the bin men would rather hack their own leg off at this time of year before miss out on the xmas drinks off the locals .

I remember when I lived in Leigh and the bin man knocked on the door asking for christmas cheer. This was a couple of weeks after they refused to put a bag that was at the side of the bin onto the truck. This was after the bins had not been emptied for three weeks. You can imagine what I said to him. Just after this the rule about the bin lid came in.

We have to leave ours in bags on the front - no bins in our area, all recycling bags. They didnt come last week, because NOBODY could have got up the lane. This week, they had a man with a hand held gritter walking in front of the lorry. They gritted the whole mile and a half of the lane, and picked up the rubbish. And there was a LOT of it. THAT is a decent service ....

And yes, they got a tip. Because they are exceptional ....

If im a oap and are house bound how do I get rid of three weeks worth of rubbish without my bin being over full?
