No, but the GB Community Lions were playing them at Whitehaven.

RFL Statement:
England Academy versus Australian Schoolboys fixture relocation

Due to unforeseen weather conditions across England, the RFL in collaboration with Barrow RL, have decided to relocate the first Test game between the England Academy and Australian Schoolboy’s to Leigh Sports Village.

The game was scheduled to take place at Barrow’s Mark Coward Stadium, but due to adverse weather conditions the fixture will now be contested at Leigh Sports Village on Saturday December 4. (K.O 2:00pm)

Tickets for the fixture can be purchased on the day and cost £3

I don't think it will have quite the same attention as the France game, cringeworthy as it was at times.

Will they play it on the 3G?

Would have thought that'd be an option for the East game that was postponed so maybe that had a top layer of ice or summat as well? I can only think they would be planning on using the main stadium because of the undersoil heating.

Every other game they play and on previous tours are played in proper stadia not open playing fields so I would expect this to be in the stadium - especially if the RFL are footing the bill!

Leigh East are (hopefully) hosting a game on Sunday, GB students v Australian students at 2pm. International filled weekend in Leigh!

Game is on at the Stadium, just git the call.

The other one planned at Cas, may be switched to leigh also yet!

The Aussie Schoolboys and AIS are 2 separate sides which are both currently touring the UK.

A huge positive to RL in the area that we are looked at immediately the minute things go wrong elsewhere, somehow I don't think our days of International RL are over, especially if the RLWC is in November.

I love the RFL wording "in collabaoration with BarrowRL"! Presumably that means Barrow pitch is unfit? Maybe "in collaboration with Leigh Sports Village" would have had a truer ring to it?

Leigh at the fore of technology again! for many years Kirkhall Lane / Hilton Park was used by the RFL because of our Floodlights which, today, are taken for granted however Leigh stood alone for almost ten years as the only Rugby League club to have lights,(Bradford's were installed for Greyhound racing and wern't up to much) the mighty Wi@@n didn't have lights until 1968, fourteen years after Leigh!!
Those of you who have removed the straw from the pitch, down at HP, to get the games playable will look back and remember those 'happy times' !!

Well we won't be playing ST George before they play Wigan ,it seems they just want to come play Wigan then leave ,maybe something to do with our glorious weather
