Opening scene of the film [i"when himself got off the train"[/i was filmed at Ballyglunin train station - which is about 1/4 mile from the farm my maternal grandparents used to have - the ancestoral home of the Delaneys!!
My Dad was from Trim, co. Meath - and the Norman Castle in Trim was used for a lot of the scenes in "Braveheart". My Aunty, and severall cousins appeared as extras in the film - you can see my aunty clearly at the end of the film, in the crowd watching Wallace (Mel Gibson) being tortured!!
