great for the club and Ian to release this, people where getting worried (rightly so) i for one didnt want to see us starting another season with another new coach who hadnt picked the squad.

So what do we learn from this:-
somebody has read a story to Ian Millward and he has got his ruler out and a felt tip and drawn lines under it highlighting relevent points.

Never doubted for one minute Ian would,nt stay and see out his contract, he took us to 3rd in Championship this season next year with the few quality players he,s going to be bringing in
i can see us playing better RL and finally getting to the finals we missed out on this season.
All the coaching staff have done really well this season when you look how last season panned out................

If the money is at £100k for 12 players I can't see many quality players being brougt in. It has already been said that players from last year are turning down offers, so why would better quality than last years players come for the same amount? The only quality we will have will be those who are still on contract and are already at an agreed level of income. Maybe once they have gone around the clubs and realised they is limited funds at most clubs they will return to Leigh. But then do you get the best out of them when they are now playing for alot less than they think they are worth?

Every club has the same salary cap so it's how you spend what you can afford.

I'm sure Ian will get the players he requires to make the squad even more competitive than last season.

If you all read what Basil has said he is going to do something really radical he is going to develop the young talent within the club and hopefully bring them through, lets not forget Riddy and AJ for example are still young pups and will have benefited from more first team experience this season.Riddy played the second half of the season with an hernia and still performed well, better over the season than the other highly paid half back.



Lets hope the club and Basil see out the three year plan and lets judge them after that .
