The second half of the season we have played awful. No better than last year.
No more excuses about "not Ian Millwards players" and "we ran second last, last year".

No tick in the box on the playing side.So now can stop mentioning Widnes.

I agree. Pity that video refereeing decisions might cloud that. Eagles always looked the more likely to score, by playing expansive rugby, with pace. That game probably highlighted our problems - little creativity, and a lack of pace.

Anyway lads, well done - a big improvement on last season! Here's hoping for a similar improvement next time!

we cannot really be surprised at the result - we've somehow managed to make third this season despite doing a Devon Loch half way through! We are just not good enough and we do not have anything like the support to justify moving up a division. In a way its probably a blessing that we can forget about the whole franchising farce thats coming up - it wasn't likely to be us going up anyway so why prolong the agony? Great night for Widnes - the only question surely that can remain is who is coming down to replace them?

higson,hill and nash when he came on,only ones who seemed to want to know,missed duffy when he went off.we should have lost by a lot more.them backs must be the slowest set that leigh have ever assembled.massive changes need to occur in the close season because there were fans coming off the ground tonight who would not normally be so irate but they were.goood luck to sheffield totally deserve to be in next round.

Really! The first few months of this season were a big improvement, but the second half of the season has been a huge disappointment and our play has generally been very poor.

Best team won, just wish they had won in a different way ie taking their chances and running 50 past us.
Hicks was aweful, simply due to inconsistency.
Anyway glad the season is over, time for a big think about the future I feel.

Obviously NOT happy with the way we got 'outplayed' 2nd half, Sheffield should have got 40+. But I was not surprised at all, we are /were one of the worst teams in the division, last 2 months.
