heard a rumour that he has retired

and that is why he hasnt been avaliable for selection. Anyone else hear this rumour or anything else about him?

Yeah I posted a while ago that I'd heard he was having a scan and if it was the injury he's suffered a few times previously that he was thinking of hanging the boots up.

I've no proof to say if thats what he's done or not though.

Its a shame if true because Tim had real talent, what it will allow us to do though is free up some valuable space on the salary cap for 2011.

I feel for him if it's true cos he's had rotten luck with injuries over the years. We could really have done with him the last few weeks as well in particular.

unfortunatley this is true he has had to retire from the game due to the recurring injury spoke to him at weekend at miners junior section where he coach,s my sons team under 15,s with his brother simon

Tim doesn't didn't really enjoy his rugby 'as much' recently - no surprise.

never good when a player has to retire, but unfortunately he was always imo a big risk, and it aint worked, shame cos he was doing well.

Sad news this lad had good talent and a great heart! Real shame as injuries always the only thing that got in his way... great to hear he is still working in the game with Miners at least for now though!

From what i heard within the club he hasnt been injured for a while and has been available for selection, but millward doesnt like him, surely if he had retired the club would have informed the fans. If it is the case of millward not playing him im sure that has shot the lads confidence as he was playing well in the early stages of the season.

very true, he must either be injuried, unfit or retired! maybe the club should have a status of each player!

example:

tim hartley - status - injured (all season)
robbie paul - status- fit

Or as above!

He was pretty decent for us and actually turned into a solid centre, best of luck mate with whatever you plan to do next.

The club should report to us what his status is because he was touted as a key player before the season began and was replaced by Ridyard (not because of injury according to Ian) and then he hasn't been since since pretty much.

I heard he wasn't entirely happy with Ian but you'd have to ask Tim if that's tru or not. Good luck to Tim for the future if he has called it a day. Nice to see him training kids at Miners, I believe James Arkwright is also doing a similar role there also with one of the other teams.

I'd have thought it'd just fuel any rumours, to be honest as Millward's statement is hardly conclusive as to the player himself?

thats a shame, obviously millward has stuck the boot into tims confidence. Im sure a visit to the lads house for a conclusive answer would have served better than a statement in the rag like that!!
