Apparantly was telling the Haven fans to "kick it off with the Leigh Fans" an elderly gentleman on our coach heard them saying. That is a disgrace.

The stewards were a disgrace to the club, aswel as some of their fans. Stewards offering out leigh fans for a fight, very professional that is. Not. Also i heard the main steward who was causing a lot of the trouble, used to be a bouncer around the town and had been banned from being on the doors, for a reason i dont know, so he has become to a steward, he was a thug to say the least.

Ryan there were about three guys wearing HEAD STEWARD 'bibs' I spoke to a red haired guy who was very apologetic about his stewards and fans behaviour.

Should any Haven fans read this who is that idiot in the wheel chair who accused a Leigh fan of punching him ? He is the cause of this ridiculous incident and that equally barmy steward who is physchotic ?

The Haven club must know who they are and I cannot believe both of these idiots have not tried to cause trouble before. Their absolutely braindead behaviour is sad and a serious problem for their club.

I am not making this up and I am not a young hothead either quite frankly it reminds me of the incident when a Haven fan was supposedly assaulted by a Leigh fan wielding a baseball bat at a Leigh game at Hilton Park.

Yeh try getting into any sporting event with a baseball bat presumably hidden in your pocket.

Two complete clowns and they cause this sort of bad feeling it should be sorted and these two clowns barred from attending ANY sporting event.

Well said Frank, i was there and it was bazaar how the fellow in the wheel chair caused all the trouble, even some of their own fans told us he is renowned for it.

I expect Haven Bouncers have never quite evolved from the 80s/90s bouncer thugs we we were used to in Halifax back then. As the nursery rhyme went "And he took him by the left leg and threw him down the stairs," Although our local horror nightspot, The acapulco still employs this breed.

I saw this bloke who was 40 -55 ish walking with a stick, welding his stick and confronting one of the senior ladies off our coach, as he walked away screaming and swearing.
I asked him what his problem was, so he then went in my face and started to kick off wth me and said that the lady went up into his face, at the end of the game and waved her arms and said yeahhhhhh.
Which I think she may have shouted yeahhhh, as it was one of those type of games but not maliously as she isnt like that, and certainly not "in his face".
He was very rude and was still swearing as he walked away.
I ran two coaches there and I will be writing to their club regarding their fans behaviour.

A Steward must remain impartial at all times, they are there too 'Police' both sets of fans. Best thing to do is write to the Safety Officer about it, or the Licensing Agency. Just remember this thread next time you have a pop at our Stewards for being 'Over protective'.

Just rang and spoke to their manager and told about the incidents, the one I saw and I mentioned what we was told about the Elderly Bloke in the wheel chair, however if theres anyone who witnessed it closely and knows more by all means ring yourself 01946 692915

most mobile phones have a video recorder option, someone should have recorded the muppets. just goes to show how professional our stewards really are

Thankyou WBK. All our stewards are trained up to Level 2. We are proffesional and yes do sometimes get stick.
We care about doing our job right, and even though the fans don't always see it that way. We have the best interests of the crowd and the safety certificate at heart.

All I can say is Haven fans to the South Stand next time we play them after the latest incidents

we wont need to open any stands as they dont go to away games!

I have been to Haven everytime Fax have played there since relegation bar the past two years as now refuse to give my money to a club with such vile support. Everytime I have been there I have been confronted by groups of scratty chavs or knuckle dragging beer louts looking for responces to their provocation.

The worst time we had up there was when Fax played Kells on a weeknight in the challenge cup. The fans that day were plain evil from the things shouted at us and players alike.

Yeah Ste, he was a idiot. Some leigh fan said to him, " you shouldn't be wearing that jacket, your a disgrace" he then replied to him come say that to my face and we will see what happens.
He was a thug, looking to cause trouble.

Dave, don't lump yourselves in the same boat as the 'Haven "stewards".

The big bald fella, who apparently is banned from bouncing in Whitehaven, literally shoved me out of the ground for the heinous crime of walking out of the toilet block and towards the exit gates! He said, and I quote, "we've been waiting three and a half years for you lot, and we'll be waiting for you next season". Shame my quick wit deserted me whilst I was being assaulted as I'd have said summat along the lines of having to shove Skolars fans about next season rather than us!

It ain't just the stewards. I remember once being threatened by a guy in a suit who was sat in the 'Directors' area. I had just commentated about a bad tackle after a Haven player had done a particularly vicious stiff arm. He accused me of being biased, and said he'd shove my mike up my a*se. I just wish he'd tried .... At the end of the same game, some idiot in his sixties threatened to do Fred over. All Fred had done, was help him get up after he'd tripped. There's no room for scumbags at any level within a club, and this needs sorting out.

It was myself who said that to him and he said he would take it off if I came up to his face and said it again. I will inform everyone of the reason why I said he was a disgrace.

Myself and my mate (Wayne - Southern Leyther) went to use the gents toilets immediately after the game before boarding the coach home. Upon seeing the queue I suggested we used the one in the main bar which we assumed would be far less congested.

As we approached the bar there was a group of Whitehaven supporters, congregated round the entrance verbally objecting to some Leigh Supporters chanting 'Going Down, Going Down' whilst they were leaving the terraces.

The response at this stage was nothing more than a few Whitehaven fans engaging in a bit of the usual name calling, a few 'cheat' remarks in return and a couple of expletives thrown in for good measure.

This all began to fizzle out as the Leigh supportes passed them and the Whitehaven fans turned away and made their way into the bar with us behind them.

What was absolutely disgusting was 2 Whitehaven stewards on the door then waving the Whitehaven fans back out of the bar and one of the stewards urging the group of fans.

'What are you all waiting for, go and f ing confront them.. F ing go on,go for it !!!! '

When we came out of the bar we saw the 2 stewards physically,forcefully shoving and manhandling 2 Leigh supporters right out of the ground.

I usually have a 13 year old girl with me watching Leigh everywhere, who thankfully didn't fancy such a long journey to whitehaven on this occasion. She won't be attending The Rec for the next few years at least either, that is for sure.

I will be contacting Whitehaven myself to formally complain later on today.

Never had any problems with any Haven fans before. Seems like most people disagree though, will have to keep my eyes open next time.
