Myself and a colleague and his wife both Wiganers are going to the match on Sunday, we would like to go for a drink before and after the match. Any pubs we should avoid as the they dont want any bother just a quite drink. We both take the micheal out of each other at work he knows i hate wigan with a passion. but all in good fun

should imagine that any pub you go in will ave a bit of banter but no trouble, after all i would of thought that a lot of leigh folk jumped on the wigan success trains of years gone by

Not been in but i think you would find most Leythers go up Leigh ie Goose and centurion and Easts.

Park Inn hotel next to the ground, quiet chatty atmosphere. £2.50 /pint

Well if you want a cracking pint then there is only really the wetherspoons, if you want a beer near the ground then any of the baove named will do the job, depends what you want.

Think you're doing a massive dis-service to the Boar's Head and even the Goose there.

last time i went into the goose it was truely a awful pint, the boars head, not been in for sometime, so again can't comment, all i know is since ken took over the boars head, its imo not been as good as when he had the muskateer, now there was a top pub. in general the spoons in leigh has been excellent over the last 3 or 4 months i have been in it, good choice of beer, and excellent qwuality, at a very reasonable price

The Black Sheep bitter in the Goose was excellent on Sunday, everyone has their own tastes though i suppose.

Black Sheep on cask was excellent in the Goose on Sunday, and I believe they had Brains SA prior to that. There was another one as well but can't remember the name. Better ambience than Spoons as well IMHO.

Think I'll give the goose a try before the game. Not been in there for ages
