I believe Leigh can & will win the northern rail cup next year wiith guidence from Millward , Paul & others. Personally I'm placing a massive bet that we get promoted next season after seeing Dewsbury dominate that league it'll be a piece of cake for the centurions to do it with our wealth of experiance. In regards to our super league ambitions being religated will make it harder for our SL application but the LSV is one ticked box, win the northern rail cup thats two & when we do get promoted if we follow in Barrows footsteps then we've got a very strong case for the license! The championship one will take care of itself we have nothing to worry about there if we put our efforts into winning the northern rail cup it will pay off in terms of a SL license hopefully!

Forget about Super League, it's not going to happen.

I honestly don't believe the club is ready for Super League in 2012, even if we stayed in the Championship and won the NRC/GF. We need to get the foundations right from the lower league and work from there.

Widnes are more or less in SL for 2012, with Toulouse to follow if they can tick the box of NRC/GF.

To be quite honest, I'd only feel that we're ready to apply for Super League if we were at the top of the Championship and sweeping all before us in front of an average crowd of at least 3,000. Anything less than that and Super League would just be a huge culture shock, as we discovered in 2005.

If you look at the NRC this way....... next season could end up with us playing the NRC semi final the wk before we play London and the wk after we play Workington at home

where as say Halifax could be playing their semi the wk before barrow and the wk after Widnes.

i know its a long shot but what my point is that in theory being in a lower league = lower class of teams in theory = better chance of progression in the NRC if that makes sense (well it kinda did in my head)

We're a long way off that too. Nows the right time to work towards the goal though, Millward's coming, there seems to be some good cash behind the club and a brand new stadium were the teething problems are started to be eradicated (slowly but surely

They've got battered most weeks and failed to attract many decent crowds. If anything, they're just another example, added to ourselves in 2005, of a club stepping up when their infrastructure wasn't already operating at something approaching the level required.

If we don't get in next time, we'll never get in. Everyone who is in there will have a stadium sorted by 5 years time, hence closed shop.

but it is possible for us to do it. If we went into the SL it would more than likely end up like the last time we were in BUT maybe by the third year we "could" be good enough to just about stay in (possible)

And Leigh will be in that lower class of teams unfortunately? Yes luckily you already have players tied up who will be 'compensated' for on the cap but as for the rest?

Remember you aint gonna be the only team desprate to win the NRC next season and you'll be doing it on a lower budget than the rest

1 - Yes, Course you will.
2 - No teams have more quality as ity stands and will also be recuriting but on a budget twice as big!

Yes you'll be better set than they where! But Widnes / Barrow / Fax / Fev / Sheffield / Haven / Gateshead all be going for it next season on twice the budget is my only concern for you lot there!

maybe we will have 1 or 2 loses due to trying new & up comng young players but we will be promoted how is it we wont..? we have a far better team than Dewsbury and far better players & coach than theirs!

which will boost my theory of better chance to progress in the NRC because we have a lot less tougher games leading into the ko stage of the cup than the likes of widnes, fax, fev etc
