Jeez you`re right ...........cost of transport =£5..... that would be nearly 2 pints......... Don`t knock the efforts of the sponsors of the coaches it`s totally unwarranted.

The coach would have cost more than £5.00, that was a nominal refundable deposit. They have embarrassed the club and stuck two fingers up at the generous sponsers who paid for them to travel.

So maybe your Headlining title requires changing to something more appropriate, otherwise you `re penalising the majority for the sake of the few.....

When I heard about the free transport I thought those behind the idea were brilliant, and for the majority of fans I hope you enjoyed the north east and I hope (if we still stay in this league) you will come again.

Walking up to the ground it was great to hear such a great atmosphere. Although our attendances have increased we rarely get the stand anywhere near full.

However, could you please kick out the louts that call themselves fans. Their language was disgraceful. One minute they're screaming their allegiance, next they're calling the whole club ****, then "we'll support you whenever". I'll apologise for the shambolic stewarding at the game, but most of the time it is not necessary. The stewards should have ejected at least 3 or 4

Too much drink, not enough brains. They bring the game and your club into disrepute.

So if you'd be so kind make sure they never travel on club approved coaches. As for the rest thanks for a great afternoon, I know you really wanted the 3 points, but realistically we can only hope to overhaul Batley. Good luck for the last two games.

I went today and there was nothing wrong with the chants what us leigh fans sung. Nothing that you wouldn't hear at any other grounds. Leigh fans were great today. It should be us complaining about the Gateshead players and staff giving us fans the two fingers after game.

Clearly you feel that swearing is perfectly acceptable, and you may experience it at other grounds but we don't like nor endure it at Gateshead. Can I ask you not to come again.

And I'll quite happily apologise for Nick Youngquest's hand gestures as he left the field totally unnacceptable. As far as I saw no-one else did anything else but applaud both sets of fans.

I dont think swearing is accpetable but you get that at all rugby games. Their were girls, about 10 year old sat with their parents giving leigh fans the two finger gesture during the game. Also driving off from the ground on our coach we were kissing the leigh badge and a member of staff from gateshead also gave us the two fingers, totally unaceptable, so before you come on our forum and talk about our fans, think about all the money were have given your club today. Lets see if you can get some of your directors to sponsor the coaches to return the compliment.

For god's sake it's a rugby match not a church service. What do you people at Gateshead expect? Should the Leigh fans have burst into a chorus of "All things bright and beautiful"? Get real. Hopefully we won't be coming back because you guys will be in Championship 1.

I have just returned from todays match, and have to say that the look of bewilderment from the officials and fans at the stadium as the 300/400 leigh fans descended upon the stadium and started to sing, perhaps belie the issue here.

Having been to a great many games of this sport, and others, I have seen many acts that are out of order and embarassing, and save from the one chorus of the 'flute song' i would have to say that I saw none of this today.

It is obvious that gateshead can not deal with what was only a mediocre following, heaven knows what they would do should the travelling fans of most superleague clubs show up at the thunderdome.

I thought most of the banter was held in good taste, by both sets of fans, and to criticise it now seems to be mainly sour grapes from the home crowd, that were gifted a good result by some ridiculously poor refereeing decisions.

I do believe that the reaction of a certain thunder player leaving the pitch was as poor as the Matt King incident earlier in the super league season, and hope that the action will be disciplined as such. However maybe there are so many antipodeans within the squad that this has now become acceptable to the whiter than white fans that represent the thunder.....

Excellent post, top notch. If there was even a sniff of trouble in the stands then I could understand it, but the stand was shared without a problem and the banter stayed exactly as that. Considering the magnitude of the game, I thought it was pretty good-humoured all round, to be quite honest. Can only assume that Gateshead aren't used to having a large, vocal away following at the ground.

Well all I can say is the fans were not abusive they were good loud and vocal and none were really drunk. They are obviously not used to any away support, we were loud and imtimidating but legally.

u could see the shock on there faces at the amount of support we brought and not one bit of trouble even at the service stpps well done leythers dont think they r used to seein a crowd

I am ther biggest objector to the Leigh fans singing the flute song and swearing

But today we heard the Song once and other swear words twice in over 100 minutes of intense competition

As for Mr Youngquest , I have lived ' Down under ' and fully understand the meaning of his gesture , unfortunatley I had to leave before he came out from the stadium , I was waiting to see him and I was going to return the favour , there was no direct abuse given to the Gateshead players or Mr Youngquest himself other than Booing

If Both clubs do stay in this competition I will be waiting for him to step off the coach next year at Leigh , his reaction will be interesting I'm sure

Unless there was summat said at the front of the stand, then the only stick being directed at those leaving the field was for the match officials - both sides played their part in an excellent game, and I applauded them both off the field at the end of the game.

I was so annoyed with the tripe they were posting that I registered with Last Tackle just to post a response. But I think I am wasting my time - they just see RL as another hobby to fill a few hours of a weekend. It doesn't MATTER to them, not like it does to us. Expansion clubs will never know how it hurts to grow up with a team which constantly lets you down, but which you cannot help but love. Usually unrequited though....
