which numpty at the rfl did the fixtures this season? how is a club supposed to generate interest for supporters to come back and watch when they go 4 to 5 weeks withiut a home game? and how are they to raise income either through gate money or corporate sponsership with no home matches for long periods?
I am a long time supporter (you can tell by the gray hair!!) but i am finding it hard to keep interested because of the length of time between games i cant unfortunatley get to many away games due to other commitments (kids/work/wife working shifts etc) but try to get to as many as i can. Lets hope the RFL go back to home match/away match/home match format again next season because it s not just leigh that have ended up with stupid fixture lists

rochdale just went EIGHT weeks between home games

They'll go a lot longer without home games when the football club sell the ground and move in with Oldham Athletic!

....isn't it Blackpool who have just had 5 weeks WITHOUT a game of any sort

i thought the club had taken advantage of the five week gap to reseed the pitch (why i dont know but i am not a groundsman) the fixtures were out even before the lsv had opened

The club didn't request any fixture window. Pitch maintainence is down to LSV Co, so they decided to use this time to re-seed etc.

LC Has had zero say in either matter.

I used to see Fred every week for the DVD's now it's getting to be every month or so with this stupid fixture list that we've got , I saw Fred this week and he'd grown 6 inches and lost a stone since the last time I saw him



I hope the RFL sort this mess out and get back to alternate home and away fixtures .

Oh and I hope this 9's competition falls flat on it's ar$e , it should be a pre-season curtain raiser instead of a mid season distaction that the clubs and the fans are not interested in



I'd also bin the Thomas the Tank Engine Cup and bring back the Lancashire & Yorkshire Cups , granted we'd not win it just yet but we'd make more money from one viisit from the Pies or Saints than 5 games against Blackpool and Swinton



It wont happen though , the RFL want to keep this two tier system where the SL keep their snouts in the trough and throw crumbs down for the rest

After our last home performance The Watcher wouldn't be bothered if another 4/5 weeks went by without The Comics playing at home.

Id like to see the league season start earlier, scrap the Mickey Mouse Cup, and replace that with the Lancashire and Yorkshire Cups for the non-SL clubs, running at the same time as the League. But more importantly get back to alternate home and away games....five weeks without a home game is a joke, especially when you cant get to any away matches.

Its time for clubs to look after themselves, 16 club NL1, 30 fixtures, 15 home games, home/away format, no friday games for pt clubs.

yes good idea scrap the tin pot cup bring back the lancashire cup but must include the Super League clubs much better wire, pies, or saints than blackpool or swinton

I don't really feel that the rugby season is on. With being unable to attend mid-week games, my last game was Gateshead and I can't remember before that. If the club is intending generating a larger fan base then regular home and away is a must. No wonder the fans are drifting away, not just the poor performance on the pitch. There never seems to be a squeak from the club about the poor selection of fixtures. Maybe they are happy? If so it just sums up the club.

I can assure you no-one is happy about the fixture format.

I chatted to several unhappy coaches today about the situation.

Im sure Arthur Thomas is deliriously happy what with keeping the club going without any gate income coming in

Who cares about how many fans attend the games? Only the fans the RFL do as SKY tell them and SKY would rather no one go to the games then they can all watch em on TV!

They say SKY saved RL? Well thanks SKY now lets move on unless you play outside the heartlands no one wants to know you!
