Right, I might make an appearance at Widnes, and it is a little worrying reading coments on the team, LSV and other aspects.

We have only lost 2 games so far this season FFS !!!

We know Batley can upset the applecart on ANY championship club, and the Fev game was a fantastic effort.

In my opinion, Kelly is doing the right thing, by bringing in good honest local talent, who will come good given time.

OK, it would be nice to win the first 3, but we havn't, but 7 points is still a good return. We have numerous injuries, and Stanton and Armitstead will make a massive impact once back.

We do lack a quality halfback, but most teams do. Should we bankrupt the club for the bloody sake of it?

Most fans on here expect us to win every game in front of sell out crowds!!! Lets stop the dreaming, and get on with supporting the club. The LSV is a fantastic stadium, but the recession will hit places like Leigh very hard, so don't expect miracles from the club on the attendance aspect.

Neil Kelly is by far the best coach in this division, and he has the knack of pinching games when it matters. Widnes will be a massive test, but they arn't breaking any pots either, and that side SHOULD be smashing all Championship clubs.

Its a Marathon and not a sprint. Let the kids mature under a terrific coach, and lets see what happens.

Look what happened in the late 70's when we had Mr Woods and Mr Drummond. It had taken both players a little time to settle. The rest is history.

We have a good little side. Once confidence grows, I am sure you will see some good performances.

I also agree people should realise we have what we have and must live with it.

Last season with TKL Moran Doran even going back to Bensons team Moore Grix Gaskell Bibey etc proved that good players don't meen a good team i'd rather see young local talent TRYING than overpaid journeymen taking the money and the p*ss!!

We'll get the ground how we want it given time they'll have to listen sooner or later!

Only been in the job a fornight, our defensive pattern is better and our discipline. Will take a month to get in the swing of things though.

More bodies are also coming back now.

Well said Snowy. I'm glad there are still some Leigh fans with a bit of patience. I think we have the foundations in place for this club to kick on in the future. The stadium, the young squad, the amateur set-up and the coach. Unfortunately, Leigh fans don't only want success for the future, they want it f'n yesterday!

This squad may struggle at times this season, but as it stands we're in the QF of the NR Cup, we're still in the CC (for 3 more days

) and we've taken 7 points from a possible 9 in the league. It hasn't been the best of starts but there are still plenty of positives for me. This young squad will be so much better off next season given a years experience at this level this season. Ridyard especially, is someone that needs at least a season to try to develop at this level. Trust Leigh fans to give him a handful of games and then claim that he isn't good enough. If he hasn't developed at all by the end of the season then fine, but at least give him time.

The same goes for Kelly too. He's 2 months into his first full season at Leigh and already we've seen some comments on here questioning his ability as head coach. So what is the solution? Sack him and bring someone else in? Who? With what money? What do we do with him after two months when we're not anihilating all before us? Sack him as well?

Finally we come onto the new stadium. Its still in its infancy FFS. There's bound to be teething issues. The SMC are bound to want a return in the early years. I'm sure improvements will be made in due time but to expect a free carnival every Sunday is ludicrous. I'll agree that the club and the SMC could and should be doing more but give it time. Oh and for those complaining about the atmosphere, claiming that the atmosphere at HP was far better, may I remind you that the atmosphere at Hilton Park was cack on the vast majority of matches for the last 5 years.

Can't really argue with anything you say - we have a nucleus of good/promising/keen youngsters, the LSV is a fabulous venue, and the relationship with the Club will be ironed out in time. Neil Kelly has been successful at this level, although his future success will inevitably be restricted by the funds made available to him. (and it's worth mentioning that he still has some 'experienced' players who are on pre-Kelly contracts, that he probably wouldn't have signed!)

I guess where I do identify with the 'success now' camp, is because we only have two seasons, (i.e. two NRC finals, or two GF wins) to be in a position to apply for a SL licence. There are some clubs (including our modest opponents last week) who will be busting a gut to win those key games. So, should a club 'speculate to accumulate' now? That's the question.

What some Leigh fans need to understand is that IF we wish to exist playing out of the LSV in 3 years we must be in SL, if we are not we will be getting 1200 gates max and in that much debt we would be lucky to be alive at all.
Get your heads out of the sand we must compete in a GF this year or next, or we must win the NRC this year or next. If we dont we die as a professional club and life will be amateur rl played on a park somewhere in the borough.
Could we afford 6 years or longer at LSV in a league that is dieing?

We need clear objectives and vision, we must rally around to make it happen.

His point is many wont, you would be there with around 300 in the town and that would be it no more proffesional sport in Leigh. He's perfectly correct, you have 2 years to do something or your club dies.

RL outside of SL is dying anyway. They saw to that when they got rid of promotion and relegation.

The RFL are clueless... always have been always will be and people are staying away in their hundreds because they can't see any point in attending.

Could'nt agree more Snowy it will take time .I think alot of the negativity about the ground is because they are unhappy with the teams performances , if they were playing attractive rugby the atmosphere would be much better its nothing to do with the ground ,if we where still at H.P. do they think the atmosphere would be any different the way they are playing.
