I’ve always been impressed with the Dutch supporters at the World Cup they all seem to go dressed up in their bright Orange, they stand out from the rest, well apart from the Brazilian women



With the move to LSV, I envisage most fans will be in the standing section, both home and away supporters at times, although we need to make this a welcoming venue to visiting fans, we need to stand out from them, show them that this is our new home and we’re proud of it.

It would be a fantastic sight, to see everyone right from day one at the village turn the place into a sea of Red and White.

Any old red shirt, fleece or coat will do.

If you have to wear your black winter coat get a Club or Red scarf /hat to go with it.

Brilliant idea. I have mentioned this to our lot in the past and used the dutch comparison (along with South Korea in the 2006 world cup) . It only recieved a lukewarm response. However admittedly I did go a step further and state that I think we should only sell Red & White gear in the club shop



No more away replica's on sale in future seasons

If the home kit is hoziontal hoops then its the away shirt for me but I will get a red coat

Completely agree - most of our group tend to wear the replica home shirts so we're halfway there, but it'd be great if we made the new place as colourful as possible.

New flag idea sounds spot on to me - any volunteers for design and debt collecting?

About time we reverted to cherry & white - the cherry red is deeper than our usual red.

I,ll contribute too and my vote is for cherry and white.

There will be planty of red and white on show, as there will be more than 9,000 -10,000 empty red and white seats every home game!

If we can make the place a fun, vibrant, enjoyable experience we could in time replace the sight of those seats with real people

It would be nice to see a lot of those seats filled with cherry and white fans, and if the town pulls together instead of harping on about the past we can make a real difference to the amount of fans that turn up to watch Leyth week in/out.

and therein lies the challenge....do we have the skills to win it?

We NEED to have the skills to overcome the challenge as a collective Maurice, we cannot rely solely on the club to get the fans back, we must as fans ourselves try and do OUR bit to help where and when we can IMO.

The club must set the platform to get behind. The kids tickets are a start, how we build on that worries me - some fans have clubbed together in helping buy a trailer to promote the club and this initiative.
Widnes are talking the next 3 years up, as are Fax, as are Gateshead/Newcastle, as are Fev, we seem a little behind. It is early doors but our complete lack of marketing skills is a worry for me, lets hope I am wrong and with LSV being completed we gather the momentum needed.

Anyone any ideas as to when we last played in CHERRY and white. For the last 20 years or so it has always been a lighter shade of red. When we adopted the name Centurions wasn't there some reference to our red shirts matching the scarlet tunics of the Roman centurions.

I think this needs clarifying as we move into our new era!

Yes the club must set the platform, and like you mention, the ticket idea is a great way of attracting the next generation of fans. I know personally about 5-10 people that I could persuade if I mither hard enough that will come to the game at LSV.Now if everyone knows 5 people that they could persuade to come along, if theres 1500 season ticket holders (and I hope there is a lot more than that) times by 5 = 7500 people.

Working on the same idea that Jamie Oliver has got on his new food programme in Rotherham ,that if he teaches one person to cook a dish , then they in turn teach 4 people to cook the said dish and so on and so on, the amount of people that will then be able to cook that dish is staggering.

Its an idea that maybe the club could do something with ie referrals scheme so if you introduce a said amount of people you get a free season ticket? Just a thought.
