Any more Leythers off to London this weekend for the Challenge Cup Final ?

Always see a few people I know there .

Am guessing that both Warrington and Leeds will turn up for this game unlike last weekends fiasco by both of them .

I'm off 'Down South' on Friday on the

staying with my Niece - four of us making a day of it on Saturday meeting up with other Leythers before and after the game. Staying till Monday for my birthday bash with the family then off to Cornwall for a few days - see you all in a week then (after Thursday's game) - the only thing is the bloody weather.

When are the teams announced?

I am going down on a coach fri morning, i shall be wearing my leigh away shirt on the sat, and will be giving hilly plenty of vocal support.

Question I here on this site over and over again how the RFL only look after SL and dont give a toss about the championship clubs, yet year in year out off you go down to wembley to watch SL clubs. Time to stop funding the RFL with your hard earned money. Time the Championship clubs broke away, without us SL will struggle dont play in the challenge cup see how they can run the comp with only 14 clubs in it, dont allow any of the championship players to sign for SL clubs. And before you all start saying and who's going to fund us if we break away. i cant answer that but what the hell, we are doomed if we stay with the RFL running things. at least breaking away we have nothing to loose.

Well it is a habit I have had for a lot of years but I have to admit I have thought about this one being my last.

Breaking away will not work however and you can't stop any player leaving any club from going to another if that is what a particular player wants to do.

London Broncos for example can't carry on much longer with the gates they are getting.

The licenscing system will have to be scrapped soon or our game will die.

Facts are facts and surely common sense will prevail.

My opposition to franchising has been unwavering and the latest news about what league Bradford will be playing in next season just contributes to what I have been saying about franchising since it was first mooted.

Whilst I'm not the biggest fan of some of the rfl's policies and decisions. Let's not forget that without their cash advance last season we would not have paid our tax bill and would have been wound up by HMRC.

At the end of the day it was money which we would have got anyway although in a sense we have proved we didn't need it anyway. Bradford - the RFL are paying the players wages....why are the coaching staff working for nothing.

We would have just gone into admin though and SLE would have paid our players while we waited for a buyer....i know its ridiculous to think they would help any club in financial trouble.

We were there yesterday. I saw one person wearing a Leigh shirt. A chap wearing a "71" replica top and a wide-brimmed hat somewhere near entrance M, but I didn't get chance to speak to him. I doubt if it was on telly, but A J Murphy was interviewed briefly at half time by the MC. When asked about his favourite Wembley moment, he went for 1971, without much hesitation. Couldn't really tell if there was much reaction from Warrington and Leeds fans. "Nice" Leeds fan in our section - mostly family deal ticket holders - chanting "Die, Die" in front of his own kid when they were replaying the Hodgson incident on the video screens. Only topped by Pie fan telling his mother to push our son (age 11) out of the way as we got back on the train. I don't think he was joking. However, 2 out of a possible 70 odd thousand isn't bad going, and I was pleased that, overall, the final is still a good-humoured event - it's the first we've been to since 1999, and we used to go nearly every year before that from the early 80's as we lived in North London. I've been to a few SL Grand Finals, and there has been much more edge to the atmosphere.

Never been to a CC Final (always said I'll wait until Leigh get there!) but you're right about the SL Grand Final - always seem to be groups of blokes out on the lash all day who can't take their ale and end up having a bit of pavement dancing with similar groups. Must say I've always been surprised that they can even get a beer before the game as Sam Platt's, Exchange Bar etc are always mobbed from about 1pm!

Well I enjoyed the day and the match.

It is a great day out and the vast majority of fans I met were friendly and enjoying the day.

Wembley CC Final is a day when fans of other clubs meet up for a great time' to celebrate the game and have a good moan about the RFL hierarchy.

We bumped into Martin Ridyard and his mates who were on his stag do. Hope they will recover in time for next week.
