Don't know if there's been a thread previously about E-Tickets for matches at the LSV. You can buy tickets from the LSV website and print them on your printer. There's a transaction fee of 62p. Saves having to queue at the ticket office before a game.

Good idea if you ask me, works on the trains.

And planes.

Arriva buses have an E-Ticket where the ticket is displayed on your mobile phone. Could be a problem if your mobile battery goes dead just as the bus arrives.

That's a fantastic idea, hope it's well advertised as there aren't too many football sides that are capable of managing such a system, never mind RL.

not a bad idea! but. . . . as we dont swipe or scan tickets how will they turnstile person know if the number on the ticket hasnt already been used?

Very impressed with this! Needs to be linked up to the official site so that you can just click and get taken directly to the page to buy tickets for that game. Surely DParky is already on this?





Presumably with this kind of system now in place they will have to bring the back the scanners as was used early in the first season? Otherwise it cannot work.

It prints with a barcode on it so presumably they will start using the scanners on the turnstiles again.

It is a fantastic facility if it is policed correctly at the point of entry, otherwise it will be chaos. Lets hope they are not easy to copy.

It isn't Leigh Rugby at all its the LSV they are in control of all ticketing matters (and always have been) Leigh Centurions just provide a staff member in a partnership agreement, 'jumpers4stix' was refering to the LSV web site (he/she must have been as there is nothing about it on the Leigh Centurions one).
Plus I don't think it applies to games (well Leigh Centurions ones anyway) at the LSV stadium as they have match day ticket printers that print on a special ticket, but I will clarify when Andrew gets home.

That's what made me post the thread. I saw the Leigh v Warrington ticket available to buy on the LSV site. Wasn't sure if this is the first time the e-ticketing facility is being used, or was also available for the Salford game.

You have got to be crazy or unlucky to copy your eticket when they have all your details on computer. Having said that thee will be someone out there that will be looking at doing it and getting away with it.

Went to the website, coudn't see any tickets for sale. So I registered and still couldn't see any tickets for sale

Yes. The 'Leigh v Warrington' e-ticket 'Buy' and 'Add to Basket' page is now blank. The web designer of the LSV website could have at least put on the page that it was just being tested and the ticket was not actually available to buy. When you clicked on buy 'Leigh v Warrington' ticket, it took you to the registration form to fill in all your details. Could be considered as false advertising.

Out of interest: how many does the South Stand at LSV hold?

I would say 2000.

Don't know if any other rugby clubs do it but I printed my own ticket for the Bolton V W*gan game a couple of weeks ago. It only took a couple of minutes.

Great for people who decide to go last minute or who don't have time to arrive early and queue at the ticket office. Fantastic idea for "walk-up" fans as they can decide at 2.30 they want to go to the match, and have their ticket and be on their way by 2.35.

'Well Ive printed my ticket off but forgot to pick it up off the mantlepiece/printer/pub table' -' Sorry sir/madam but we cant let you in without a ticket' - 'bl00dy ridiculous im not paying twice typical Leigh Rugby trying to fleece it's supporters Im never coming here again' - they then write to the Journal, Leigh Reporter, Sun, Mirror etc.... but fail to say THEY forgot the ticket.

You will always get one Fred and Nozzy is right, it is very good idea and could be the answer to the problem of not wanting to cue for a ticket.
