Think we need a prop, 13 and centre/wingers but not too bad a team before you add in the DC's

| Sorry about your back line/threequaters Maurice but it is not good enough for a table topping team. They ask why people do not watch anymore, well from that backline there will not be many long range exciting try's. From last year Batley, Halifax, Sheffield, Featherstone and Barrow all had a more watchable backline than ourselves and we are picking the same old faces. If you play exciting rugby people will come. I predict next year another drop in crowds, unless we sign players that make you get to your feet when they have the ball.

What do you mean 'another drop'? Our crowds went up last year. And people don't turn up just to watch backs. They turn up to watch exciting rugby and a winning team.

Do you still think Taylor should play at prop next season? I'm starting to agree with you actually. We are much stronger defensively with him on the field but he gets through so much work he can't play the full 80 even in the 2nd row. He might be more effective in 20 minute spells. Basil would then be able to make sure that Taylor and Hilly are never both off the pitch at the same time because, when they are, that is when we fall apart in defence up the middle.
If we (hopefully) sign a new 13 I would be happy with Littler/Goulden/Hopkins rotating at 2nd row and then we can have Hill/Bibey/Taylor/Nash/Meekin as props with hopefully one more new prop. With Duffy and Nicholson as our Hookers it looks like a really strong, very hardworking, very mobile pack of forwards.
The only thing lacking is some real aggression which is something maybe Basil will sort out if/when we sign a new prop and a 13.

Cant see McDermott going Leigh, it's his final year in the game and he stated in the barrow rag the other week then he would like to finish his time at Barrow. I doubt he would be bothered travelling all the way to Leigh 4 or 5 times a week in his last year. And i think Barlow will remain at Halifax.

Taylor has prop all over him for next season, get a stone on him and utilise his front on defence. We need that quality at 13 to move us around RP aint no playmaker.

Brett also works in the family coal merchant business in Barrow.

| How are the three young players performing, Nickleson Hopkins, and Pownall not seen or heard much of them only, to see they could be part of next seasons first team. Wondering if they could hold there own at first team level at a young age.

| If we get a DC at centre we may not see Higson playing there regularly any way. I hope we see Blythe in a Leigh jersey next season again

| Still think he may go with Littler and Nanyn at centre. I know Stuart has played in the back row a lot, but much of his Salford career has been at centre - a position where we have generally lacked specialists, these past three seasons.

| we lacked speed & its common knowledge that Littler never passes so putting a speedy winger with Stu at centre would be wasted

| I agree Frank but if the DC was Blythe then I'd use Higson to cover when Matty wasn't availble or if Nanyn had played poorly & I'd use Adam also as a cover winger too

Higson was probably our best back at the end of the season. Would like to see him given a good run of games (preferably at centre) to prove himself before selecting a DC player over him. I didn't see anything last season to convince me that Blythe is any better than Higson.

| Blythe is excellent in attacking but either one are good centre's until the complete squad is announced I can't say who I'd have where although if we sign Campbell I'd like to see Nanyn & Higson on the left & Blythe & Campbell on the right possibly
