At the end of the season we need to make changes, which players would you keep and which specific players or positions do we need to improve on?

IMO i'd keep Donlan, Maden, Alstead, Nanyn, Paul, Ridyard, McConnell, Taylor, Hill, Bibey, Duffy, Armitstead, Goulden, Morisson, Nash and the younger players such as Nicholson etc

Let Stanton (too injury prone), Leuluai, Cunliffe, Higson, Mort, and Durbin go

Try and sign 2 quick wingers, a centre and a creative loose forward. Then a few consistant squad players for the pack.

theres still half a season left, still stuff to play for ! am sure basil will sort the rest out at the end of the year

i dont doubt that 1 bit, a bit of speed is what we need

With the wages freed up by releasing the players I listed and LISA and club backing. We don't have to spend big, just recruit correctly. Fev have done this brilliantly.

Any coach watching leigh will tell you 95% of the play is down the right hand side easy to work out ok for the first 8 games not working anymore.

Ridyard was poor last nite how many times did he step back inside when he should have passed to the left centre/winger he was lost bout 10 yard mick.
Alstead/stanton/higson have all played left wing this season how many tries have they got playing left wing imo its not the player playing on the wing its the 2 player inside off him nanyn/ridyard ask any winger playing outside off mick they dont get many tries.
Stanton was fit last nite IM did not pick him.

Alstead, Donlan, Maden, Nanyn, Paul, McConnell, Armitstead, Stanton, Leuluai, Durbin, can go. Overpaid for what they bring in most cases.

We need second rows who can score trys and know how to spread, we need a hooker to take us forward not sideways. We need wide players who arent flat footed.

Like to see Goofy here for a season or two, Taylor to prop, Blythe to wing, target Harrison for a centre and an overseas 6 with pace and vision.

Props - Hill, Bibey, Taylor, Emmitt, Meekin, Nash (if gets fit and proves himself)
Back row - Goulden, Littler plus 4 others to recruit
Hooker - Duffy, Nicholson

Halves - Ridyard, aussie import

Centres - target Harrison, Higson plus newboy
Wings - Blythe, plus 2 new boys
FB - Donlan on £6k contract max, target Veivers for a season loan

The ones in red are the type that makes us sh ! te !!!!!!!! slow, utility type players.

Think Higson been one of the better players of late ,plus think Nanyn would have scored last night had he been playing ,always good near the line .

I like Nanyn and Armitstead, if we keep Nanyn though we need a quick centre on the right. I don't think Higson is the same player since his injury, but if he can get back to the way he was i'd keep him. Ian Hardman of Featherstone would be a belting signing for us.

If we don't get a shot at the sl licences after this season, I think we'll have a side that isn't even half as good as this one.

I'm not sure about that, Fev havn't got a shot and their teams pretty good.

I know this post will be controversial but here goes.

Last night was bad and we all know that but there are some things which i think would benefit the club.
I heard last night Milward was at a dinner with the BRADFORD chairman and the topic moved to him becoming new coach at the end of the season. Realistically this was always going to happen. Leigh was only going to be a stepping stone for IM to get another Super League job and now there are jobs on offer. Two and Two together....

Players, some players aren't good enough.

Nanyn has less power than a double a battery. Our wingers aren't good enough with the exception of Blythe.

BTW Stanton was fit last night but last Sunday he had some trouble at home so he was late for the coach for Batley so IM told him to get off and his punishment was not playing tonight.

Robbie i know was carrying an injury but i don't think he's good enough, he slowed the game down when we needed it faster so i'd replace Robbie with Keighly's scrum half, Jones. Him and Ridyard would be awesome to watch. 2 quality players playing together. Ridyard had a bad game last night but we all know he's better than that.

Some forwards aren't good enough. Armitstead, Mcconnel....
Chris Hill is too good for us, no wonder Wire are after snapping him up, i know he signed a new contract early in the season. But they slashed the cash for Myler didn't they, i could see that happening again. JT, RB and TG are the only stand out forwards to me along with CH. The others i'd class as average.

Maden isn't good enough, Donlon is getting past it now, Higson is agood in my eyes, he's got the build and the fire.

Unit wants to stay we all know that, so i'd snap him up. He's a good player so i think we should offer Saints what they want for him.

Mitchell and Mccarthy. We know how good these 2 are. remember how well they played against Fax at the Shay. Mitchell tore them to pieces. But now they are used to playeing with better quality players at Wire because they are in the squad a lot now. If we can get them then get them and get them playing at our level because they are good enough.

Did'nt know that about unit wanting to stay hope its true but if Basil goes would he still want to .

Unit wants to stay because he's a fan favourite and he's guaranteed to be playing every week when he's here, he' only on the bench at Saints. He's told Saints he wants to stay at Leigh.

Thinky you Might be jumping the guna bit there fella....... why would your Dual registered players sign for you next season when they are Superleague players who are getting game time in the first teams of their own clubs

Also we've been fooled before with aussie imports. thinking they must be sheite hot cos they're aussies, for the calibre of aussie you can afford you'll be better looking a little more local. Your 2nd team are going well, how about giving those halves a go towards the back end of this season to see if they could make the step up, save some air fare and use it to get the other players mentioned signed up or back up.

I've just watched your game from last night, you look very one dimensional. Paul was sussed out years ago, give him a big hit early and he goes missing, Hesketh did it to him when he was with us and Paul was at Salford, he was sickened off and all the teams know if you don't afford him space, get 3 in the tackle and rough him up he won't want to know........... and yes i know he wasn't fully fit yesterday but if that was the case he should have been responsible and looked on from the sidelines, his injury can't be used as an excuse. Free his wage up next year and get a grafter instead of a prima dona who is only there to collect the coin while he tries to prolong his once great now ailing career.

Exactly what i was saying about signing Jones from Keighly and get rid of him, he's bleeding money from the club.

i don't want my post above to be seen as kicking you while your down, your still second in the table, get back in gear, keep your second spot behind us, and at the end of the season your only one game away from a tick in the box, if you beat us at our place that is!!!!! or you just wiin the next 2 at home and tick in the box which is every clubs ambition.

Could we do a deal with wire, if they want Hill get 2 players off them? Blythe, Mitchell, McCarthy or Penny? I know Penny is a mare defensively but we need speed.

If we had a bit of cash i'd go for Ian Hardman, Jamie Rooney, Unit and do a deal with Wire. I know it's wishful thinking!
