Leigh East to welcome Special Guest Lizzie Jones


Leigh East will welcome Lizzie Jones to the club on Saturday to discuss future defibrillator and heart screening plans at the club. Lizzie will make a speech at 1pm ahead of the visit of Stanningley.

Lizzie has worked tirelessly since the untimely passing of husband Danny last year, appearing at Wembley and during the Autumn international series. The Rugby League community embraced the Jones family during their time of need and Lizzie successfully campaigned for cardiac screening to become mandatory throughout the professional leagues.

Now Lizzie has linked with the RFL Benevolent fund to raise money to create a fund to provide assistance to community clubs and junior teams to purchase their own potentially life-saving piece of equipment.

East themselves will have a range of representatives from Under-13s upwards to listen to Lizzie's presentation, with all welcome to attend to give her a proper Leigh welcome
