I know we've all called him, but judging from what we've seen recently, Im sorry to see him go.
Apparently he has had a fallout with officialdom and has hung up his whistle.
Sorry to hear it if Im honest.
He was scheduled to have London v Bradford recently but didn't do it and has been missing from the two latest round of matches, including this weekend.
Reffy we dont always see eye to eye but that and the free play rule are a joke. THe game did'nt need them and the RFL should have got the refs concentrating on the technical rules and not gimmicks.
Very sorry to see Matt pack in. He always struck me as being one of the best in the Championship - certainly miles better than some of the officials we get. He will be a big loss to the Sport
A shame he was one of the best (if not the best) refs in The Championship, always seemed a bit whistle happy but better that then the other way round & was consistent with it.
