I thought we played well in patches today but fully deserved to be in our first GF (the wait has been far too long
).
Discipline was poor but I have to say I felt the Ref was inconsistent in his officiating today which won't have helped however no excuses as regardless of that we should be professional and not give the officials a chance to penalise us - we will struggle next week if we react to the roughing up / gamesmanship Dewsbury used to certain players - and Fev WILL target our players to put us out of our stride/ game plan.
MOM was Higson (unlucky to be 'felled' whilst going for his 4th try - an outstanding game today) but McNally also was up there for me with Emmitt another in the hunting for it for me.
Atmosphere was brilliant (please keep up the trick of putting away fans in there own area - keeps the hot heads apart and makes for a brilliant atmosphere at the LSV) and anyone turning up to watch there first game of RL would have loved it as the game had everything!
So all roads head to Yorkshire with Fev no doubt getting a massive advantage as its a local game for them so Leigh need to travel in numbers for this important game.
I know the club set a goal of top 2 but for me nothing has been achieved yet as the history books only record the GF champions as the true Champions - our players deserve that title after a fantastic season (the best for many a year) as the RL we have played has been brilliant, one more big push against the old enemy in the Championship and they get the medals they deserve and the club gets the chance to be called GF winners - can't wait
