This Saturday we celebrate the launch of our heritage numbers with a parade around the pitch with around 400 children.
The plan for Saturday:
Players & families to meet in Legends Bar at noon.
***Legends Bar closed to public before game, bars on concourse will be open - the idea is to get supporters inside the ground to watch the parade! (hope supporters understand, we have over 70 players with families and it is the only place we can congregate!
1:15pm: Parade will begin from South Stand and around the pitch. Many players will be in attendance, Bob Beardmore, Timmy Street, Dave Alstead, Liam Bretherton, Neil Turley, George Nellis to name but a few!
Obviously we want the supporters INSIDE the ground so that we can showcase the parade.
After the game, the Legends Bar will be open as usual. Players and families will meet there, weather depending (!) we can use the outside as overflow if it isn't raining, or we can use the concourse if it is. Come along and meet some of the players from the past, hopefully it will be a great day.
Quote="DemonUK"You whinging b's, the idea is to get people in the ground to watch the parade and make it special. Although they probably don't want grumpy people in there who have forgotten how to smile. Lighten up guys. An idea for you guys, put a kid or two forward for the parade and you get in the legends bar AND the game for free.......winner eh pea and HH
You need to get those splinters seen to Charlie
'"
Im neither grumpy or whinging, in fact I smile quite often although "IF" I was any of the above then I have always been made welcome at every home match this year so YES they probably DID want me in.
( And whoever said if you put a kid forward for the parade you get in the Legends ) is wrong..........Oh it's you Demon.
Sorry thought they were meeting in legends. Prior to the game hence why it is closed to the public. Nothing more to to say. Two differing opinions thats all
The rooms upstairs can't accomodate us all. It was suggested the best place would be in Legends. The idea is to get supporters inside the stadium to see the parade. The Legends Bar is just a meeting point for the past players who in some cases haven;t seen each other for 20 odd years!
After the game we plan to meet in Legends again - but this will be open to the public so supporters can mix and chat with players if they so wish too.
We can only launch the heritage numbers once and we wanted it to be done as best as we could. I;m sure you understand the work behind the scenes going on to get this to be successful - and we want the supporters INSIDE the stadium to see it!
