Quote="peawapp"if you do call into the Whistling wren ,just in case any of you fancy the Hearty Steak n Ale Pie , bring along a hammer and chisel for the crust
Quote="thecaptain"Charlie, they serve pies,so they will serve a crust muncher like you.even if the pastry is rock hard its got to be better than your usual scholes fare!

Good evening John , hope you are well ?i try to stay away from pies with my weak digestive system
, just eat the fillings , more so i prefer a good burger , but can fully recommend the Liver and Bacon , at the Wren , though its nothing like a home made plate of Mother Carolis Napoli Minestrone
From the Thomas Burke it is a 20min walk gents but like people have said there are som e very good ale houses just a ten minute walk away. See if you can park by the old BICC Club and walk back over the bridge. Its a nice little pub crawl - starting at the Goose - to the ground from there.
