So it sounds to me, like you want to view content which you can stream to your computer/laptop, on your TV. I currently do this alot for games which are not shown on Sky.
This includes football and rugby. As you have the first part down (First Row, there are other good "media" sites too) the next is to figure out how to get it on the big screen.
The Media Player stuff you are looking at, for me personally, seem expensive and won't do what you are trying to achieve. My setup is a HDMI cable (the cable that allows HD connections to your TV from say Sky+HD or a Playstation 3) from my Laptop which has a HDMI port to my TV. So I just get the video streaming on my laptop and then connect the cable.
If you don't have a HDMI port on your Laptop you will almost certainly have a VGA port which you can also use. Although the quality will be significantly worse, but still very watchable. For this you would need [url=http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-USicon_surprised.giffficial&client=firefox-a&channel=fflb&safe=active&q=VGA+to+tv+converter&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=12599974072091952530&sa=X&ei=ILQGUL2rBM6XhQffwvTSBw&ved=0CHgQ8wIwAgthis box.[/url This converts the analogue signal to digital for your TV.
If you don't have a laptop to place near your TV then there are options of streaming the video through your PS3 but this is a bit techy and is not the easiest of set-up.
There will be wireless ways but I would imagine they are expensive. The main thing is that media centre thing you posted comes with set apps by the looks of things. I doubt you could navigate to first row and further still if you could you wouldnt be able to stream the video. Connecting a laptop is the easiest, quickest and cheapest solution by far.
