What a fantastic performance from these kids a division below yet they outclassed St Pats, the game was played in terrible conditions and a credit to both teams on ball retention, hardly any balls dropped and some great passing from the miners, but what really won the game was there defence simply awesome.
The miners played into a blustery wind and rain in the 1st half but went in at half time 4 all, within 5 mins of the restart miners had scored again to make it 10 - 4 but almost immediatly after the restart they were down to 12 men through a sin binning, this just spurred the lads on even more, everthing pats threw at them they just forced them back before going up the other end and scoring a great try, with the miners back to full strength they just ran away with the match with 2 further tries, this really is a special young side, unbeaten in the league since november 2008 and only beaten twice in cup games.
I hope Leigh are taking note there is 1 lad who is absolute class with 4 or 5 close behind him, I for one wud love to see these lads at the sports Village playing for the Centurions.
Hope they carry on producing this rugby in the next round.
