A young lad starts his apprenticeship at 16, serves his time going to college etc and continues doing this at the request of the company for a further 2 years until he’s 22, learning ‘new’ methods in manufacturing/quality control/robotics etc, in the mean time there’s another bloke who’s say 30 and worked there for 3 years.
The company started to have difficulties, and announced redundancies, the company wanted to retain people who they had invested money in, who they felt had the necessary skills, and the ability to take on a variety of roles to take it forward, lets guess who insisted that they went with a last in first out policy and refused to consider the time served during apprenticeship’s as part of their company service.
Yeah he did his best.
