Leigh Miners dismal end of season form continued yesterday with a 34-10 defeat away at West Hull, Victory for Wests pushed them further towards safety and for miners it's now five straight defeats there worst run in years as they struggle to find any form before the playoffs. The home scored four tries in the first half as they were led around the field well by there stand off who had a strong game for wests, Miners scored near the end of the half out on the right wing through winger Hayden Skinkis to give the half time score 24-4 to wests.
Miners started the stronger in the second half and had plenty of field position but that came to nothing as they bombed chances to get back into the game. The game was put to bed when west hull reacted quickest to a miners knock on to go 28-4 in front. For the final twenty minutes miners were down to twelve men after Liam Coleman was sent off, there was two tries scored in the final ten minutes the first from wests to increase there lead then a late consulation try from miners by loose forward Adam Thomason, Jonny Youds converting to give the final score 34-10 in West Hull's favour.
Miners travel accross the canal on Wednesday night when they play Leigh East in there final game of the season, 7-30pm kick off at LSV.

Leigh Miners 2nds were promoted to the first division of the NWC league yesterday with a 58-12 victory against Thatto Heath. Its been another successful season for miners and with only two league defeats all season they will be looking to finish the season strongly with three away games against Thatto Heath, Halton Farnworth Hornets & Orrell St James. Congratulations to coach Paul Whitworth and all the lads on promotion and another great season!!!
