On Saturday my mate said to me just before we went to watch Easts that he was convinced Leigh and Salford would merge at the end of this season.

Seems obvious to me he is right although I did not say so at the time.

Expansionists please note this is what franchising is going to do to our professional game ie entirely the opposite to what was intended.

I suppose that, if Salford and Leigh did merge, I wouldn't have to split my time between two message-boards.

Salford Centurions does have something of a ring to it, and I quite like the idea of us playing at a nice, shiny, new ground like the LSV.

My mate suggested Leigh Reds.

Great idea for Salford fans as they would have company to away games.

If the club was based in Leigh, why on earth would you call it Salford anything? It would either have to be called Leigh or something generic like West Manchester Wangdoodles, or else be like the Crusaders and give ourselves a random non-locational title (like "the Flatcappers"icon_wink.gif
