Well, it goes without saying what an idiot hes been. Lets just hope its doesn't turn into the witch hunt we've seen with footballers private lives over the last couple of weeks - if the lads got issues he should be getting a helping hand from folk.
Whatever, this more or less puts a full stop to and underlines the end of Terry Newtons professional career now.
Its a sad way to go because whether he was your cup of tea or not he was a very effective player in his pomp, and I know we're talking W**an here, but you could always see the pride he had in wearing his home town shirt. You would at least have to admire him for that.
I think what the RFL community needs to do now is assess how big this problem is and address it earnestly and realistically - as Paul Cullen intimated on B'NA the cases being brought to light are, it seems, the tip of the iceberg. A sad reflection of the game or a sad reflection of society?? Chicken and egg IMHO.
