This Saturday (April 25th) the Rugby League Collectors' Federation are holding a programme fair in the Black Bull on Knowsley Road in St Helens. Admission is free, it starts at 10.30 and on show to look at, talk about or buy will be a large collection of programmes (some recent, some old and some very old), badges, collectors' cards, books, magazines, novels, photographs and other items of interest to most Rugby League supporters.
At 12.30 the will be an auction of around 100 items. They include programmes for the following games

1908 Huddersfield v Merthyr Tydfil
1909 Huddersfield v Widnes
1910 A copy of issue number 3 of the Northern Union News
1911 Widnes v Australia
1927 Lancashire v Yorkshire played at Wilderspool
1939 St Helens v New Zealand, one day before the outbreak of the Second World War.
1939 Challenge Cup Salford v Halifax
1946 Rugby League Annual
1946 England to Australia book written by Eddie Waring
1947 Belle Vue Rangers v Leigh
1949 Lancashire Cup Final Leigh v Wigan
1951 Australia v France 1st Test

Also on display, but not in the auction, will be the Rugby League Challenge Cup. There will be an opportunity for anyone to have their photograph taken with it just for the cost of a donation to the Steve Prescott Foundation but please bring your own camer.

Blimey I've got hundreds of them, especially from the '50's but some earlier. most of them are in mint condition too - anyone want to buy them?

Yeah hundreds, but I'm not sure what to do with them really. I've got tons of memorabilia - I've even got an old Australian rugby ball which was used in the victorious 1958 Ashes test, signed by most of the '58 Great Britain team, it's all deflated now cos the inner tube has bust (or whatever it was they used then), but it's a cracker.
