I have a pub in leigh and on the front have a had a tasteful banner approx 12ft long in place for about a week advertising the fact we'll be celebrating St.Georges Day. I saw young ethnic minority children attempting to rip it off, they managed to rip it in two totally ruining it. When i shouted to them they swore at me and ran off. Theres more and more off them wandering about at night,in school hours doing things like this surely this what they've done is a racist act

Yep i agree but no one will speak out, cause if they do they will be tagged as a racist

Put another banner up, have a camera handy and if you see them do it again take photos and report it to the police and press charges for criminal damage.

If these people dont want to intergtate into British society then its high time we had a " Saint back home " day.

Not wishing to seem like a BNP rant , but the vast majority of 3rd/4th/5th generation of British born Afro/Caribbean and Asians are proud to be British and proud of their roots but they too are getting a bit peed off too with these economic migrants that are flooding into Britain/Leigh and taking housing and jobs and sponging off the system and giving nothing back.

How do these citizens get to protest about this untenable situation without being afraid of being attacked by ultra right wing bigots ? they cant so they dont but they still share the same concerns as the rest of us .

Our town of Leigh is rapidly losing its identity due to this mass influx of designer clad Economic / Asylum seeking spongers , Its getting strange walking the streets of Leigh these days and it will only get worse when Turkey join the EU unless the government stop it now !

Would be interesting to hear an opinion from a Leyth born so called ethnic minority Brit about their concerns about the current situation .

The Union Flag is made up of the 4 constituionnal countries flags England , Scotland , Northern Ireland and the Principality of Wales (hence the red diagonal cross of St David on the Union flag ) Wales only joined the Union in 1921 untill then it was a Prncipality .

I've no problem in targeting spongers in all their forms, but why limit it to immigrants? There are British Nationals sponging and playing the system all over the place, and in far larger numbers than non-nationals.

The red diaganal cross is the cross of St Patrick. Because Wales is merely a Principality it does not feature on the Union Flag. St David's cross is a yellow cross on a black background.

The black and gold St Davids cross came into exsistance in 1921 following acceptance of the union untill then they'd flew under the shared Celtic flag of St Pat

Wales since then has had 2 further National flags a red , white , and green tricolour with a black star and the red Dragon rampant on a white and green background as we know today
